There was talk about having an A/B all star race, similar to the emx250 and 125 class. Either one would be awesome to see

People want to see the 125,s race. 2 classes of 125,s would be perfect. A classification of 40 a expert, I wonder if that is good enough. Or do I need a 250 b or 250a race ? Either way I,m getting ready. Legs are getting stronger, should be able to stand for 4 laps racing. 1,800 sit-ups getting the core ready.

In all honesty, it's time for the promoters to put together a two-stroke feeder class.

Husqvarna
KTM
Beta
Gas Gas
Yamaha
TM

are all still making competitive two strokes.

Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki are the only OEMs not making two strokes (125/250) that could compete in this class. Suzuki has drastically reduced their level of support for pro racing all together, so at this point you have 6 OEMs that could compete vs 2 that can’t (Kaw/Honda).

How about a national 125 championship, anyone can enter. Might give e a Few of the sean Cantrells, Chris alldredge and others that got chewed up and spat our another chance to show what they can do.

Don't ever care if it's in the broadcast or not, get someone to film it on their phone and upload the races to YouTube. Just give us something pleaseeeeeeee Grinning

If Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki don't want to make 2 strokes that's their choice. But don't punish the companies who are still spending money to invest in the sport who do make 2 strokes. Let them race

Not 2 that can’t, 2 that won’t. They both made two strokes and certainly could again.

The bottom line is we need National 125 and 250 2t series at each national....a guaranteed way to boost both the sport and spectators.

Performance shops, suspension shops and the industry as a whole will get busier which will circulate more $$$.
Its a no brainer.....

Ha 10 people that have no skill to ride a 125 or get beat by 1 on their 10k 450. Don’t be jealous that I can do sit-ups. I don’t hv a choice, stronger stomach muscles over come a junk back. I broke it twice, 1st time was from a beating from my dad at 6, 2nd time was in 96 . After 2 days I could move my legs , left the hospital and onto the worlds strongest drill rig.

Kind of related, but I was just browsing on the MX Sports page to see if there was any info on the 125 races, and I ended up looking at the approved equipment list for the 250 and 450 class and neither the YZ125 or YZ250 are listed. The KTM, Husky, and GG two strokes are. Thinking this is just an accidental omission? List notes it was updated 3/23/2021.

Agreed....Both Honda and Kaw (even Suzuki) have the ability to make 2 strokes, they just choose not too.

My point is that times have changed. Back in the early 2000s, the Japanese OEMS had all the pull with AMA & FIM. They more or less told them that they are all going to four strokes and there was nothing they could do about it.

Today, the amount of OEMs that are making really good two stroke offroad models far outweigh Honda, Kaw, and Suzuki. If the 6 OEMs that COULD offer support for a two stroke would band together and say they are doing it, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to pull rank on Honda & Kaw and get it done.

DC has said in the past that he didn't think it would be fair to the OEMs that quit making 2 strokes to change the CC rules to let 250 2 strokes race 250 4 strokes for the nationals and that 2 stroke classes would be unfair to Honda and the others who quit making 2 strokes. With the few 125 races they had it may show that he may have changed his mind somewhat but the "we don't want to upset Honda" mentality is still there as they might pull out of racing all together. I hate to say it but Honda isn't the mack daddy of the MX world anymore so if they want to pull out and go home then too bad for them but let the OEMs who still invest in 2 strokes and 4 stokes have someplace to showcase the 2 strokes.

Does Yamaha have to take action for their machines to be homologated? Maybe the same reason why more exotic brands like Beta aren't homologated.

There is a fee and process to homologate; the fee is like $750 or something, but Yamaha hasn't paid it in years, I believe since 2014ish or 2015. I know Stank rode a YZ125 in the nationals one year, I believe the year before he did the series with those excellent youtube videos on the Hoosky.

If I remember correctly, the biggest issue is having time in the program to run another class due to the TV show. Which is why the 125 races were only 4 laps, and also why the WMX went away.

Would Honda REALLY pull out though? Tell me with a straight face they would completely abandon MX & SX at the highest level over not being able to participate in a 125/250 two stroke feeder class. Or is it all bully tactics with them knowing they can strike enough fear within the powers-at-be into making them do what they want? Seems like a conflict of interest to me.

And i'm not picking on Honda hear (well, a maybe a little bit Smile ) I'm just more or less tired of the OEMs running the sport when fans and racers are asking for something additional that is within reason.

I think they would stay, but when they were the big dog on the porch they liked to bark and throw around their weight, but now they aren't the big dog any longer. Cool
