What's with all the referencing to engineering while I didn't hear any of that in practice? This Adrian guy comes off like a hack.
1) Why not just give the apology? He clearly did the wrong thing, who cares if it was owned by Swap, Yamaha Motor Corp or Nancy Pelosi.
2) Admits to changing the suspension settings but can't set it back to a baseline?
3) Says "want to say my piece and back it up with facts" but then doesn't do any of that.
Both of them proved the later.
1. Don was being a dick on social media and at the track AFTER the review was put out. the review itself really isn't that damning.
2. who borrows a test bike to install parts and A changes the suspension but doesn't put it back and B brings it back muddy?
3. they were both in the wrong on many levels. but i'm siding with RideEng guy on this one for the sole fact that airing dirty laundry on social media is a bitch move. call the dude up and hash it out, don't go online and slander his name and business.
The part where Matthes says "you have been kind of stirring this thing" to Donn and he replies "It's kind of fun" tells me a lot about Donn's maturity.
In the end neither guy comes off looking great IMO.

But honestly if Adrian would have just apologized, it would have been done with a long time ago. Him thinking it was ok and then making excuses for drilling into someone elses bike's frame was mind boggling. Without asking permission before hand was not cool. Don took the high road and agreed to drop it for an apolgy. But then Adrian couldn't. Who cares about the offroad team putting it on their bikes. Don came off as the one who was honest the entire time. There was even a thread about this beef on here about a month ago. During the entire interveiw I was thinking Ride Eng needs a PR person to go on Pulp not Adrian. Ride already puts out some good marketing emails so they obv have someone there good enough in that department. Both the Maedas have a ton of knowledge about the sport and neither are someone I would start a pointless beef with especially if I was clearly the one in the wrong.

So there were 3 holes drilled in the head tube. Lets say that for whatever reason it might introduce some kind of structural weakness.
Wouldn't the fact that those holes have bolts in them now remove that weakness?
He also stated the reason for doing so was because Don wanted 20mm clamps and Adrian wanted a good reveiw. If 20mm clamps were so bad without a damper then why make them or sell them?
It was also a motocross bike, pretty sure Don wasn't signing up for any GNCCs with it.
There's Yamaha, AmPro Yamaha, Ride Engineering, and TransWorld.
One of those is no longer around. Do the math.
Adrian isn't blameless but he seems much more reasonable about the whole thing.
Donna also SEEMS to straight up lie during that interaction on Pulp.
