I don’t see it as negative. As someone at the race trying to figure out how Jett was missing and Oldenburg was in makes it easy/quick to read. Oldenburg was on the gate at the LCQ and didn’t race. So I wanted to know what was going on. I enjoy going back post race and reading the race thread to see what I missed

When they say the team changed frame I assume they mean they changed the entire bike to say a spare bike and are not suggesting the team disassembled the entire bike and literally put a new frame in? Makes no real sense otherwise because if you can change an engine, what benefit would a different frame be?

Ever been to a flat track or hillclimb event ran by the AMA ? They have been a joke since they started and call themselves a sanctioning. How they are still in control amazes me.

My guess at what happened in this poorly organised shit show is that when Jett pulled out of his main event gate, Oldenburg was the only one there ready to fill it? Maybe after the AMA told him to be ready just in case, after their LCQ fuck up had been admitted???

Rider alternates always go down In the event someone doesn’t make it or pulls out so they can ha e a full gate. Been down there many times for this exact reason. If fifth place isn’t there waiting then they will take sixth place and so on

Oldenburg didn’t replace Jett in the main, they already told him he could start the main on the second row before Jett decided he couldn’t race, it would’ve been a 23 rider main. Absolutely laughable. Sure, Piazza should’ve replaced Jett, but I don’t think he was actually down there to do it

Get over it , they did the best they could, two wrongs don't make a right but when someone gets screwed because you messed up then you unscrew them by breaking more rules....501c. Took balls , kudos to whoever did it.

Exactly! Everyone is up in arms about this whole debacle, but what IF Oldenburg was the only one that showed up to the line as an alternate? Maybe he got tipped off that Jett may pull out of the main but it was still a last minute decision technically and he was there and ready. I know it's more common for alternates to show up to the line at outdoors to since it's a 40 man gate and a 2 moto format (more chances of someone missing), so maybe no one shows up as alternates at supercrosses, especially 250, since a) it's not long after the LCQ and b) most of them are rookies and might know any better

In reality the 5th place guy got in the LCQ already by not allowing Oldenburg to race the LCQ.

Once the AMA realized they messed up by not letting Oldenburg race the LCQ it was the right thing to do, by allowing him to race the Main.

Piazza asked twice if they take alternates, they told him no and took his transponder. He would’ve been ready if it was an option

Piazza had his chance to make the main via LCQ. Oldenburg didn't even get a shot because of a mistake on the AMA's side.

It sucks for Piazza but I totally understand why they made the decision they did.

This is the rule in the "official" rulebook that they will quote.

"6. Race Direction is empowered to make and enforce
temporary regulations necessary to cover emergencies or
special conditions (not covered in the rulebook), including
any unforeseen situation for the betterment and in the
interest of the program."

The rulebook is complete horseshit and needs to be completely gone through and updated. So much CYA in there for the AMA's benefit.
