Yup. Ralph and Ricky had terrible rhythm, often stepping on each other, and leaving Ricky stumbling. Diffey and RC did well together last season.

He's not bad and he's definitely improved a lot.

I do wish he'd do just a touch more on the technical side of what's happening like Malin, Langston and of course Bailey did - for instance about half way through the main with the whoop section breaking down and seeming to develop one line. I've only seen it once but it also looked to me like Ken was holding Cooper off primarily by tripling into the rhythm section from the inside (going 3-3-3 throughout), but then Cooper started doing it too and so (with being a touch faster everywhere else), that made the difference in ultimately being able to setup Ken in the latter stages.

That's the sort of thing I like the most, but again it's easy to say in retrospect and he does a good job overall. I'm sure he'll get better with time too.

Practice makes you better, I think him being in much better shape (lost weight) has helped him too....

He is working with a great lead.

Diffy makes is a LOT easier for RC not to sound like an idiot.... with Ralph, it worked kinda the other way......

I'm really tired of his tired old rhetoric. He often talks too long and doesn't talk about what's happening in the race. He always says shit that has zero meaning like "Well, he just needs to hit his marks now". Which means nothing.

He's better, but still not good and unfortunately never will be. His speech is "racetrack hillbilly", and that's never going to change, it may be arguably harder than Emig overcoming his stutter. It's not just knowing your material, it's also being able to relay it to the audience. It shouldn't matter if you're a fan of him or not when you choose if he sounds good in the booth.

My opinion:

RC can't make up his mind whether he is a color guy or a play by play guy. Sometimes he goes into play by play mode which is Leigh's job. So then Leigh has little to say. It sort of almost makes the case for the Paul Malin MXGP one-man solution, but it doesn't.

I don't think RC is there to explain what is happening. I think he is there to explain why it's happening and what it's like when it does/doesn't happen.

He would be better if the video production team could get the broadcast properly executed. The 250 main was so porely covered.

He really struggles to talk smoothly, quickly, and eloquently. He doesn’t have a very strong vocabulary. He really isn’t a good fit in that position. Emig was much better. Emig and Diffey would be amazing.

rc is MUCH better with Diffey than with Ralph but he still isn’t very good overall.

Diffey is night and day better than Ralph to me.

I wouldn't say really good, and he was always one of my fav riders. Seemed like he was trying to justify the Forkner take out.

That's why Leigh is so good, he depends on his professional talent and let's them shine at the right time. It's also why Ralph was so terrible.

Now let's get Jeff back in there and it would be perfect.
