Great race by Justin and when he's on he's a maniac on the machine like no other. But considering his inconsistent results, and after the Tomac incident in SX how many eggs would you want to put in that basket as a team owner? Does Justin affect the likelihood of getting a top teammate? With Geico pulling out and covid spectator issues are we about to lose other sponsors as well? Where does that leave JB in the big picture with so much young talent. Would you chose Justin over JMart?

I love JMart, he's a great kid and a fantastic rider. But on a 450, I'll take Barcia all day and twice on Tuesdays. That ride yesterday was epic. I have no idea how on some days he is so far off the pace while other days he can smoke the field. And credit deserved to Yamaha. Lots of posters make BS claims about the YZ. Yesterday's race shows that bike is fully capable depending on the rider. Frankly, I would love to see a Barcia / Tomac / Osborne title race. 3 riders who are super aggressive, not afraid of contact, battling for 6 more rounds.

Barcia hands down he's only one year older than Jmart. Barcia looked bad for the fight after the race but Tomac was the one who rode really stupid, go watch Tomacs take out move on Bagget that's what started the fight.

Yamaha has been having RV testing a lot. From what I have gathered is that Barcia isn’t the best tester and RV settings have really helped the bike.

That foot off the peg whip gave me a Buckwheat flashback.

Dont get me wrong, it was as good a ride as i have seen from him in a long while, but where has it been? The LL1 win wasnt a shock, but yesterday he motored past everyone, and i think with a bit more luck with the lappers he could have stole the win.

But that is what you get with him, he is either on or off, and not a consistent performer . And if he gets a 2 year deal, it will be the end of 2022 before you see him ride like that again. Unless he does it at Red Bud, or he could just as easy go 10-10.

I think he is mentally fragile, compared to someone like Zach, but if they keep throwing down like this every week, i am all for it.

Awesome ride
I really enjoy watching Barcia when he’s ON.

And stopping to congratulate Tomac after the checkered flag was a big plus

I don’t get how people still act like the situation with him and Eli in SX was that big of a deal. It was one race and two top guys were heated. We see bench clearing brawls in team sports and yet it’s a big deal for two athletes to yell at each other a bit?

If anything Eli dumping his bike over in frustration and letting his Dad pick it up at LL2 on live television was a worse look than two heated competitive people arguing.

I’m sure Bambam will not be without a ride next year and actually, sometimes they should more think about opportunities to ride even if it’s not factory race team, instead of big Dollars.
Those Yamaha rock river, ktm Rocky Mountain, Hep Suzuki, are really good, show at every races that they are there and their riders are doing really well. Even more on 450 class, you don’t need a “lot” of things to make those bikes ready to race ..
I like JB as a racer but he admitted he is not a great tester. Villopoto helped develop settings and Tickle is adding some good stuff too from what has been said in various forums. I hope wherever he lands has some support for him to get up to speed. He's got a few good years left to go.

We were standing just below that jump. He had just made a sweet pass in the left hander before it, maybe of Marvin or AC. Immediately throws that crazy whip. He was flying and knows how to entertain.
It must be awesome just to be at the races.

Bam Bam wears his heart on his sleeve. Luckily that gives us the gnarliest in-the-moment whips and some of the most on-the-edge rides in history. It also means blatant take-outs and whack meltdowns. Then he just disappears. It's the enigma of JB. I love him and I hate him.

Live and die by the sword as they say. I’m a huge Barcia fan. This sport needs riders like him, Anderson, Osborne, and Friese. While they can be frustrating, they truly add the character necessary.

From Kellen Brauer's great RacerX piece:

https://racerxonline.com/2020/08/29/saturday-night-live-ironman

“I knew I was strong today,” said Justin Barcia. “I felt good, had the good speed. My fitness was definitely good today on this track. It was super rough. But blood was in the water today and I tasted it. Eli was right there, and we were battling so hard. I told his dad John that if felt like the old days battling as amateurs. It was a really cool feeling. Good clean racing and I was right there but I just couldn’t make it happen. Eli rode a great race.”

I remember hearing him make those comments post race and the one about talking to Eli's dad was pretty telling. That says a lot more about his relationship with the Tomac's than the arguments that took place in SX. Simply epic battle yesterday from him and Tomac.

This is the most accurate when it comes to Barcia

10 minutes more of Barcia pressuring Tomac would have resulted in a smoked kawi clutch.

I used to hate on JB but have been a fan now for a while, but man I just find him frustrating as a rider.

On the 250 he was unbeatable but the 450 he pulls something out like yesterday that just leaves your jaw on the floor, then if history repeats itself he'll go back into hibernation for the rest of the series.

Hope he can back that up and my GOD that race made me realise how much I enjoy MX over SX.

Barcia's been riding like this all season. In LL1 moto 2, he crashed in turn 1, and by the end of lap 3 was in 8th place. Another moto he beat everyone by a minute.
That second moto yesterday was absolutely epic!!!
They put 25 seconds on third place in those final laps.
I thought the congrats after the race was really cool.
I imagine both riders enjoyed that battle.

I'm expecting Barcia to race like this every week, and to contend for the title.
There are a lot of riders I'd like to see win. I hope Barcia wins the title.

Yeah I think his confidence is super high now. Today the humidity dropped way down, along with the temp. So no rider will drop from the heat. Very cool this mornin 50 in Mn. In Indiana now. And it,s cool, Chicago has storms forecasted this week, Red Bud is a short drive from Chicago. If it,s a mud race, BamBam wins a moto for sure, dry race he wins a moto.

Awesome ride yesterday, he is amazing when he’s motivated for whatever reason. It just seems like negotiation time is the best motivator for him.. and the occasional clean out torpedo move on someone who is irrelevant to JBs finish is just BS.. love watching him ride, but my memory is good enough to not be a big fan of the guy.

You know who really frustrates me. Blake Baggett. Dude can flat out beat everyone by 30 seconds in dry conditions but will get 15th next moto. At least Barcia your getting consistent top tens and fives. Hell blake in supercross would be the fastest guy on the track at some points and get 12th.
