If it was a 2 hour race I'd bet my house on Todd Kellet, he absolutely hauls in sand. Props to Yamaha for giving him the ride, it'll certainly make it interesting.

Cool to see Todd fill in for Kemea at Sardegnia. Racing that track on a full factory bike is sick! I don’t know how long he took off after the beach race in Argentina, but this is normally our “off-season” The track is the closest to a beach race track, but still so different. Also the intensity is just really different in motocross than beach racing. But its a cool option that Hanaha gives him; I Hope Todd does really good !

Todd Kellet as a fill in is a great call, he rips in the sand, but whether he rips enough remains to be seen, but great to see him get a shot. He was never really 'in favour' in the UK scene, just wasnt quite fast enough , and not quite big enough, and never bagged a top ride, but went to France and became their top sand guy , which if you know the french, must really piss them off. First off, it's good to see that Varize is OK and went on to race the next day. The clamps that failed in this case were the WP Powerparts clamps. They're stock on the factory edition, but I wouldn't consider them stock in the general sense. Most people are buying these as aftermarket parts to upgrade the clamps on their non-factory edition bikes. I do find it interesting that when it was our clamps that failed in this manner, it was a huge ordeal with multiple posts, Instagram mentions, podcast interviews, etc., but when it's a KTM/WP part it's not...

Does Matt have a mechanic that goes with him to the races? I'm planning on going to Budds Creek and wouldn't mind lending a hand with the bike if needed. I'm an experienced mechanic and Yamaha 2 strokes are my specialty.
