We have a couple Vortex for the 23-24 in stock. We have them mapped and ready to ship. They make a great difference in throttle response and overall power.
Who mapped them? How much?
Still available?
The GET is mapped from them. I only tried the base map that came on it. Very connected map. Comes with WiFi modal and bar switch.

Bump the thread for some carbon
I wanted one of these so bad but after trying to deal with them to get one bought I passed, they don’t have the best customer service.
Does it hold more fuel than a stock tank?
We have Vortex standard mapping and maps that we have put together for some different pipes.
Yeah a little more than stock
Just got my stuff back from REP. Great customer experience and packaging. Excited to try it!
Nice! Give a ride report asap! What did REP do to it?
put er on the podium this past weekend 3-2 for 2nd overall in 450C
I know it's been mentioned in one of these 69 pages, but what are you guys doing for pistons? I'm nearing 40 hours and plan to replace the stocker to ensure I have no piston pin failure in my future as some of the guys in here have experienced.
My go-to is Wiseco but I haven't seen any pistons available. My buddy at Rekluse isn't able to order one or find a part # either. It sounds like Vertex or OEM are the only options. I've always used Wiseco and am reluctant to put a cast piston in, but I will if that's all that's offered at this point!
Thanks guys!

Sorry if I missed it in this thread but what rear disc guards will fit this bike? Will the previous model year fit?
Beautiful bike! Are those coatings on your forks or A kit? What else is done to the bike? What gearing u running? Bike looks mint
I had Craig turn my stock suspension into A kit for most part, 50t rear, rekluse clutch pack, akrapovich exhaust, gytr hydraulic clutch is basically it. Suspension is best upgrade for sure!
If you don't mind sharing what was your total cost for this, and what did he all do? Looks great btw.
Pit Row
I had him do the exact same thing along with the fcp engine mounts and luxon gen 3 pro clamps on the 23mm offset and it's a completely different bike. I did the vortex from xpr as well. I am really enjoying the bike now. At first I was a little worried I made a mistake coming off a kawi but now I'm glad I switched.

These are available and are forged....
If you need one and cant source them we got you covered.
Did u get a chance to test the 23mm offset clamps on their own ? or was it all done at once ?
Would love to hear more about your thoughts on Austrian 350s vs. 23+ YZ450F.
I have been swayed by the 350 reviews and was planning to buy one soon (even went so far as purchasing a bunch of parts ... I am an idiot) ---> but, it seems the 23+ YZ450F models are like a 350 for luggers, with better suspension and mucho power on tap?
As an owner of both, hearing the pros/cons of each is exactly what I am interested in - if you're open to it. Feel free to email me if preferred (not wanting to gunk up this thread. My email address is:

I had the suspension and motor mounts done before the clamps. While the suspension and mounts really helps the harshness and overall feel/confidence I was still getting some bad head shake when chopping the throttle on high speed rough sections. Thats gone now. I have not tried the 24mm stem yet and don't really see a reason to.
I want to say the forks were 3 grand and a kit shock was 2800 if I remember right.
I had a 22 FC350 and I loved everything about it. Rode 23’s and 24’s and didn’t like them at all, they felt completely different from the 22 to me. I describe the 22 as feeling like an insanely fast 250f, pretty exciting engine, and the 23+ as feeling like a very slow 450. I rode a 24 yz450f and bought one the next day. The engine has a very exciting feel to it that I like and enough power to ride it any way you want. I’m 29, local C class speed so take my input for what it’s worth. Definitely try before you buy!
I have a 22 350 and now this 24 450. I am a slow vet guy and I think the 450 is much easier to ride. The 350 is great, but the 450 has better suspension and you can adjust the power on the app to your liking. You can't make it a 350, but you can tame the hit if you like. To me it handles just as good if not better and I can easily clear any jump out of the corner without having to ride it so high in the rpm like the 350. If I could only have one then it would be the YZ for sure.
Have a few more hours on the bike and wanted to share some things I’ve noticed and tried.
I’ve put about an hour and a half on the REP Suspension so far and figured I’d share some feedback since I haven’t seen much information on REP on yamaha’s outside of Keefer.
In stock form, the forks felt a little soft for me, but were also very compliant and active, which felt great for off-road. The shock on the other hand felt terrible for my 230 pounds. I had to put so much preload on the spring that it felt like I got no traction and the bike wouldn’t squat at all. The rear was also shockingly high given the preload, to the point I was clipping my boat when stepping over, even at 6’ tall.
REP Suspension on the other hand has the bike feeling very balanced while in the pits and riding, and lower in the rear. They lowered the shock slightly, but I’m not sure if it’s by 1 mm or 2 mm.
The bike squats on the throttle, and the shock works really well off-road and in the sand. Going out two clicks on rebound has it pretty glued to the ground off-road, and I’m able to get decent sag numbers with their spring set up. Still haven’t raced it but will give more feedback as I go.
Forks lost some comfort, and feel a little less active. No matter what I hit I still seem to have about 60 mm of travel at the bottom, but the bottoming resistance with their spring tubes is really good. Same as the shock, the clickers definitely make a difference, and I feel like the stiffness upfront might have to do with the fork height more than anything. I started at 3 mm then went down to 1mm for the sand and that’s when I started getting more harshness and skipping. I’m going to try 2mm tomorrow.
Overall, as was the case with my Husqvarna, I’m super happy with REP. I think they listen, work with you if you have questions or feedback, and in both cases the initial settings have been very, very good.
I haven’t ridden an Enzo set up on this bike yet, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use them. I think Will and the team they’re doing incredible work and have a different approach than REP when it comes to stiffness and valving. Can’t go wrong either way.
Couple other things I’ve noticed for anybody racing off-road. I tried the 14 tooth front sprocket, and the bike felt really different. It put shockingly less weight on the front wheel to the point where I almost think I would try a 14t front sprocket before buying a vortex ignition. I feel like it would be pretty tough to race motocross or tight with this, but could see using it for national hare & hounds or really fast stuff.
I also have been running the IMS oversize tank. First thing, the battery now sits inside a depression in the tank instead of in a separate tray. You definitely have to keep an eye on this because it sucks in water and mud…
Then, initially, the tank was designed to mount the ECU on the side, but the stock ECU throws the tip over error and will kill the bike when is idling. To help fix this IMS built a mount so that you could put the ECU parallel to the ground underneath the fuel pump. I’m not super excited about that because it leaves the ECU pretty exposed and I think it will get demolished in mud races. So far I’ve left the stock ECU on the side and other than when you leave the bike sitting idling I haven’t had any issues with it dying. It does constantly throw the tip over sensor code in the app.
I also tried a vortex ignition from twisted development with gear based mapping. I think Carlino Joe was using the same set up.
For me (40 expert) off-road, I don’t think the map works very well. It definitely pulls harder and much longer, and it’s great for Hill climbs, but it doesn’t start faster, you have to press the button to activate traction control after a dead engine start, and it’s still a decent amount of power for tight stuff off-road. I think it would be a handful in sprint enduro’s or 3 hour long WHS in the dry.
Also, I found the difference in engine braking between second and third gear a little disconcerting. I would come into some downhills and downshift in the second and blow my turn thinking I was in third, which has more engine braking.
Of note, you can run the vortex on its side versus having to run it down below as it doesn’t activate the tip over sensor. This is great, but the vortex sticks out from underneath the side panel and touches the shock in motion…
I’ve sent it back to twisted development to get the maps installed, and I’m eager to try it, but I’m still not very excited about running it underneath the fuel pump down by the shock.
Last two things that stood out to me are the Hydro clutch and bar position.
Brembo clutch doesn’t come with the rubber sleeve covering where the hose attaches to the master body, like on Ktm. A little odd, considering the price. Also, it was much harder to bleed for some reason than other clutches I’ve worked with. It’s probably me but I had to go back and bleed it several times before I got everything out, and I actually ended up smoking a clutch pack in the process.
I’ve also tried the bars in the back hole, and the front hole, and the bike almost turns too well for me at my height in the back hole. Also, when, landing on jumps or in soft sand, I noticed the front was a little twitchy. Figured I would tighten up the steering and steam, but when I moved the bars into the front hole that sensation mostly went away. The bike also seems more measured in the middle of the turn, although it did lose a tiny bit in terms of cutting down mid turn. Feels more comfortable standing for me in the hole as well.
Massively, long post, but hope this helps!

Does your braided line for the clutch seem too short? Mine is pretty tight….
I haven’t noticed it being too tight but I do run my levers pretty far in. There’s good slack/movement in the hose on mine by the frame, underneath the radiator.
