You’re blaming DC for your username getting deleted?!? This statement alone destroys any credibility you may have had. I’d explain to you the difference between VitalMX and MXSports but, you wouldn’t believe me and you are not engaging anyway. DC has posted on here the reason for the delay, the considerations behind it and yet you still can’t accept it. What’s up with THAT?

You also realize that DC isn't like standing at the gate taking a head count, right?

They just get a sanction/promoter fee and I believe just a few points on the sign up fee, so until (I guess) they get a check and a report.

Don't know how you'd think he'd know all that off hand, or even why you think he somehow owes you that information

Everyone knows you left a bigger, nonsensical and more offensive comment. Three times. And that was my reply to your actual initial comment. If you don't like my answer, I'm fine with that. But quit coming on here and calling me a liar. If you can't man up and stand behind your words by saying who you really are when you flame someone like that in here, anyone in here, then they should keep deleting your accounts. You lack courage. At least try to have some decency.

For anyone wanting some real information beyond what Davey has posted here, I urge you to go listen to the podcast that Michael Antonovich/Swapmotolive did with MX Sports' Tim Cotter yesterday. There are a lot of pertinent details in this interview, and hopefully it will help people understand how fluid and difficult it is to get a schedule for MX sorted:

https://www.swapmotolive.com/tim-cotter-on-the-fly-racing-swapmoto-podc…

Kudos to Anton for getting this done

DC thanks for being so willing to interact with the common fans.

99% of people understand that MX Sports want the nationals to go ahead more than anyone, but also understand that there are large factors at play that make it too risky, and too difficult at this point, from both a public health, employee health and business point of view.
But no matter how much you logically explain it, there will always be a few entitled individuals that throw their toys out of the cot and demand everybody dance for them purely because its what they want.

Best of luck in the future finding a solution that can make all of the stakeholders happy.
Whenever that is, I will be watching.

Cheers

Hey DC... just quoting in hopes you'll see it this time. Asked earlier in the thread:

"Hey DC – have you guys been looking to perhaps do it in a bubble of sorts, a bit like SX? 2 or 3 rounds each, repeated at maybe 2 to 4 venues? Might cut prep costs down for the tracks and easier than getting 8 or more compliant states/counties/tracks etc?"

I believe DC is absolutely doing the right thing here, under the current national format.

Crush you don’t get it do you? It cost money to make money from the business side. If a track or MX Sports loses more money than it pulls in how long would the Nationals last. SX is a different program.

For now it's best to stay the coarse and try to make it work. If, in the end it doesn't, a 6 round FREEDOM series could be done with those who are able to participate at venues that can hold an event. Shoot, just look at how they used to run Mavericks big wave event, everyone watches the website and when the swell hits the light turns green and everyone jumps on a plane, adrenaline pumping!

Not sure I saw that one. As always, if he quoted someone else, and that post was deleted, his went out with it.

This thread is wild but it does make it easier to see why America is in the situation that it's in. Keep defunding your public schools lol.

I drove threw Indy tonight. There racing Indy cars on the rd course, then zfinety cars. Then nascar on the oval. It,s racing on tv, not MX tho. Talk radio in Chicago interviewed a Indy car driver from the UK. That lives in Chicago now. Sounded fired up to race. The city’s nickname is the Circle, fyi.

Hi Crush, sorry I missed this. Yes, we have definitely talked about it, but we have concerns right now between just getting people from one side of the country to the other--California, Florida and Texas have all bee hit hard by this recent spike--so where would you put it and not have to leave some people home right now? And after the month-long residency in Utah, I don't think anyone would be too excited about doing six or seven weeks again on lockdown. I haven't asked everyone but I don't think it would go over well...

Let me try this:

If you had a new KTM 450.

And you had the following choice.

1. 16 year old Bobby down the street who reads MXA can come to your garage and set up your suspension and mapping.

or

2. Decoster and Carlos Rivera will meet you at the track for a day and provide you with what you need to set up your suspension and mapping.

Which would you choose?

the advice of Bobby, or the advise of experts?

Dang, I jumped back on to see if the thread was still going and happy to see it’s still somewhat civil, even if it took some clipping by mods.

And as far as postponing the nats go, @dc, I completely understand making the decision. The potential liability and risk around all the uncertain right now is wild for anyone that could possibly be held liable.

Problem is Bobby likely isn’t multiplying actual confirmed covid cases by ~15 like a substantial portion of the US (ex. Collin county TX...) to get to the sky rocketing numbers you’re being blasted with by the media.

For every one confirmed covid case, they’re assuming an additional 15 are positive as well. I’ll repeat, that means for every 15 new cases, that means there was actually only 1 confirmed case of covid. There’s a reason people are at least questioning what they’re being told.

Thanks for stating the bleeding obvious.

The point is, nothing is going to be perfect right now is it. All involved would be aware there are going to need to be sacrifices and compromises if they want to get a title done... I’d assume that’s the preference, a lot of the the teams sponsorships and employees likely depend on it too...

Hence, my question was asking if they could somehow compress and condense costs to a few locations that are willing and able to work and then you’re left with the home base travel issues etc

Are we ready to address the elephant in the room that the situation is unlikely to be very different in two months? Or six?

Spikes are up , yes. But deaths are down! That was the goal, seems like the goal is working, not failing!

While that is encouraging... it’s not guaranteed the trend will hold.

If it does, I would take that as the people the need to be cautious are doing so. This could lead to us learning to live with it while getting back to work.

However, if the infections spread to the vulnerable population I fear more shutdowns.

2 weeks after the SX season ends you think Davey is going to be perusing Vital, run across your idea, run back and tell the powers at be and say Hey this guy Crush on Vital has a novel and brilliant idea to run the Nationals in a bubble. You know like they did with SX....

I work EMS in south Texas. Things are very bad here. You don't want to be in the hospital, it's totally packed with covid. If anything the deaths are under accounted for. I just came from the ER many people on ventilators. I've never seen anything like this in 14 years.

Thanks for adding a real viewpoint. It will quickly be countered by people who will skew statistics to prove you are not telling the truth.

Thanks for your service to your community and keep safe.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I’m hearing the same from some of my medical professional friends. It appears deaths start happening 14 to 28 days after infection.

Crush all I was trying to say was it would not work with the outdoor format from all sides. Riders even though not much like purse money. Take that away some could choose to sit out. Each round is $70,000 put up by each track. One track could not do that without spectators to at least to recoup that 1 time and not 3 or 4.
Hey I wish they were racing. When it’s time to do it right they will and if not this year maybe next. Let’s hope and pray a vaccine is proven to work soon.
