If WADA is in charge I would say a pretty good chance.

There's a high probability, alot of people don't show symptoms. I expect at least one person to test positive. Just hope all of the racers test negative especially the riders in the hunt.

Yeah, but we wouldn't know the results until MX is half over.

Are they gonna perform the antibody test also? If so the positives wouldn't have to continually being swabbed and could be a little more comfortable with his surroundings knowing he's already contracted this virus.

There is also a high number of tests that are false positive and false negative. Someone could have it and still slip through. Someone could also not have it and get bounced.

There it is!

Also, as previously stated, a person needs simply to know what they’re dealing with, limit their exposure & act accordingly.

Those that post the over-the-top “tell that to the 100,000”...? Might want to go back and look at the -actual- stats and then come back and retract their drama-queen post.

But, hey, that’s jus’ me.

You are most likely to test positive when you are the most symptomatic with shortness of breath and/or fever. I bet none of the racers will test positive, unless they are already feeling like shit and shouldn't be there in the first place.

Dear down-voters, stay hidden away in your homes. Don’t expose yourselves and comply with whatever your governor says.

Fear & ignorance are, both, worse than cancer.

Honestly? I feel sorry for you.

This is a serious illness. This false narative that it won't hurt you if you are young and healthy is dangerous and foolish. I know of young healthy people that have died and others that have been seriously damaged after surviving. There are many unknowns with this virus. The death toll has been greatly under reported. The political policy of preventing widespread accurate testing is preventing correct modeling of the virus spread and mortality rates. The media has come in to play, thus we have the ignorant liberate mentality demonstrated here.

I find it interesting that some of the people on this forum ride dirt bikes. Riding is dangerous, you can die and have permanent disabilities. There are many ways to have any one of these dangers happen to any of us at any time, everyday. People can be extreme in both directions with their thoughts and actions. I am an adult and aware of the virus around us. Am I going to put my life on hold till someone tells me it is safe to live? Absolutely not! I will be careful as possible and be aware of my surrounds with others and continue living life..JMO

I understand the negatives and the paranoia of it all. Here's the hard part, every day, all day, you are putting yourself and others in danger. You know how many people die in auto accidents, alcohol-related deaths, cigarettes, bad diet? Guaranteed so much worse, yet, I bet you expose yourself quite often.

THIS!!!^^^^
I have been so damn curious for so damn long about HOW, IN THE WORLD, some of you who post on here can possibly muster the courage to straddle a motocross bike, start it up, put it in gear, let out the clutch, and aim it toward a motocross track with an intent to race it. I mean, good lord, some of you seem petrified to the point of immobility of facing even the slimmest chance of contracting the virus, and yet - AND YET - you're (supposedly) voluntarily involved in a sport that comes with a written guarantee of danger up to and including death. It's not merely weird, it's UFO sighting weird.

I'm beginning to think you're all bots. Especially that dude (bot) from Australia.

You guys could sap the fun out of anything.

It looks like the organizers have come up with a reliable plan so just let it be. Everyone gets an asterisk this year. Across all sports.

Like my buddy at work says “stay out of people’s personal space, don’t touch your eyes or mouth, wash your hands and don’t go around licking shit”

Sorry for all those that have perished but was pretty cool to see some 100 ish year old veterans that beat Covid being interviewed Monday on the news.

I spent the day riding my dirt bike with a doctor that has been working a covid icu for the past two months. The virus is real, but it is overblown. If you aren't very overweight, have diabetes, or are under 65 your chances of even having to go to the hospital are extremely slim.

The virus is real, the political bs we're living through is insane. People are going to die, that's a fact, could be any of us. But you idiots trying to make the world stop for a virus that is killing mostly people that were gonna die anyway is extremely annoying to those of us that want to go to work, earn a living, etc....

If you're scared, stay in your house and leave the rest of us alone. For the rest of us, keep your hands clean, don't touch your face and you're probably not going to catch it.

BTW, my wife has cancer and is on chemo, so we've been using masks in public before it was cool, we have to take precautions because if she gets it she will likely die because her immune system is compromised. That means WE have to take necessary steps for her safety. I do not expect everyone else to stay in their homes and isolate.

Supposedly, the ones my facility use are only about 65-70% accurate. Lots of false negatives. It is simply hard to do the test correctly. These people come in and demand a test then go grabbing your hand and yanking their head away while you are attempting to give them EXACTLY what they asked for. So, the testing is highly dependent on getting a correct sample. Ken looks to be cooperating just fine. He is the exception in my experience.

Weather or not you think 100k dead is serious or not is nil, the fact is that our society is unprepared for another deadly plague or god forbid a mutation of an existing virus or disease. It's not if it's when unfortunately.

That being said I'm stoked for racing this weekend. Hoping that the track layouts and dirt are good. Should be nice and warm! Woohoo

Someday you will be older and maybe no longer ride or are unable to. Does that mean you will no longer follow the sport? If you do.... no doubt some punk-ass douchebag will call you out for reliving your glory days and talking nonsense. You'll have come full-circle.

I have rode twice in the last week, but I sure as hell don't want to catch COVID. I will stay away from people, and wear a mask to protect others when indoors, until it is eradicated or they have a vaccine.

Estimates of the percentage of people currently with COVID is 1 in 200. So, if they test 900 people, I assume they will get some positives and have to do some tracing...

https://covid19-projections.com

Anyone who thinks "we will all get it eventually" can't do math. Only 5 percent of people have had it, and you need at least 50 percent to get some form of herd immunity. That would be 1 million deaths. I am confident we will have a vaccine approved by the end of the year. I will be first in line.

maybe time to find a new sport as motocross clearly is too dangerous for you.

Any facts to back up this nonsense ? Seriously damaged after surviving??
