This is a great comparison, but there is one fundamental difference, and that is Dana White is both genuinely an incredible promoter AND he loves fighting. There is nobody who can convince me the people who run SX actually LOVE this sport. I disagree with about 99% of the way Dana has handled fighters and arranging belt challenges, but I absolutely cannot argue with his results. UFC is more popular than ever, even if the sport peaked with Connor a decade ago.

I would bet Feld will ban everyone, hire a select few people to cover the races, and maybe leave a few slots open for those who want to pay to play.

Photographer and videographers is primarily what the conversation is about. There are only maybe a couple people that go to the races to cover it strictly from writing / podcasts (think Lewis and Steve). Albeit there’s a few that dual role such as myself, LeBig, whoever attends for Swap (Chase or Donn), etc. We should know more in a few weeks, all of us were spoken to off the back of this video yesterday about it. OEMs are meeting about it this week and some other stuff. I have hope that things will mostly work themselves out.

RedBull Gmbh (promoter) did that when they got the FIA World Rallycross series. There were a few drivers who used to have great vlogs from the races, some awesome photographers... they banned them all. Even some blog posts or youtube uploads from races filmed from the stands. It almost killed the sport if Im being honest. (not sure more fellas here follow that series)

Championship just set Suzukis new bike release back another decade. 😄

Honestly those KTM semi-factory 250Fs seem pretty affordable/reliable vs a bunch of the motor builders out there.That said, it does nothing to resolve the positional pressure of loss of a factory team.
