So i dont know how much experience you guys have with Pitster Pro brand of bikes.
A buddy of mine bought a gpx 140 or 150 a few years back and while good looking it really was a POS.
. Pister was not great to deal with in terms of parts support or tech help. Maybe it was a lemon bike but it was always having issues to keep it going.
Maybe they are better now but it was bad enough to make me shy away and keep riding my orange bike.

Sadly they still do hold their value. I see 10-15 year old harleys going for 5-7000 almost everyday on facebook. Its unbelievable.

Two years ago I bought an 2010 ultra classic limited for 10k with 17000 miles on it . That bike sold for almost 28k . That's a big hit to take in 7 years .

But Harley blames millennials for not wanting to spend 30k on a slow, rattling peice of chrome plated shit that hasn’t made any actual improvements since the 50s. Indian, victory, etc all put out way better products than HD but since they don’t have the name “Harley Davidson” stenciled on the side they dont appeal to the dentist who’s having a midlife crisis and wants to dress up like a pirate on the weekends.

Sorry you are wrong. Here in San Diego county 10 year old Harley’s are over 10k for anything but a sportster or Dyna. I paid 14k for a used street glide, rode it for 3 years and 10K+ miles and sold it for $12,500. Cost me $1500 and oil changes or ride it for 3 years. Pretty good resale value if you ask me. A Jap bike would have dropped 60”-70% under that scenario.

Chinese bikes can't be any more unreliable than a Harley...and Harley ripped off Indian anyway....I'm all for it. It'll drive down Japanese and Austrian pricing.

I would agree that they do have a little better resale, although not what it was a few years ago.

But your anecdote about buying used and only losing 1.5K in value over 3 years misses the mark because the resell value hit has already been taken on a used purchase. Hell, in 2006, I had a long commute, so I decided to burn up a Kawasaki 250 as a commuter. Bought an '05 used, put 80,000(!) miles on it, clapped the living shit out of it, and sold it still at under a 1.5k loss after a few years

Most all bikes have their issues.

Buying a used Goldwing?
Make sure u check the frame under the motor.
They are prone to rusting there. Rusted rusted thru they are toast. It's a parts bike then.
The electrics are marginal on a lot of the bigger Hondas. Some guys are even adapting car alternators for the GW when the OEM ones take a crap.
Even my CB 750, the weakest link is the charging system.

I dunno. I would hope a good all around rider can look past the stereotype certain rides have.
I mean, it makes me kinda laugh when an outsider
sees a clip of the guys in bmore and tell me it's "those dirtbikers".

Rode one of the brand new gpx 250's at work and it came with gas trapped in the floats in the carb, not a very good first impression. Overall very cheaply made bikes, and copied from other brands.

Ignorance bothers me. Jackasses who have never owned a HD will find fault with them even though they know nothing about them. When in reality they are at the top on resale value and customer satisfaction.

Then you have idiots like Zehn who make pirate outfit jokes when he would put on gear to ride his dirt bike that makes him look like a clown. Go figure. Take a pic of the gate at the next National and get back to me about outfits.

It’s hard to take a pic of myself riding so I’ll post a pic of my latest HD. Bought used with 7K miles. Will ride it for a few years for the same cost as if I bought a Chinese moped.

Wow I have no idea posting a thread about Chinese bikes would explode like this, that was not my intention. Like I said in the initial post if it will get more people riding then that's a good thing as the sport I love is dying at an alarming rate mostly due to the high cost of bikes, track insurance and the closing of tracks.

As far as copying designs I thought it was common knowledge that all the Japanese manufacturers bought each other's bikes and took them back to their secret R&D Laboratories to tear down and research.

I remember hearing back in the day Suzuki had a Maico, where do you think they got the idea for the leading axle front fork and reed valves? Woohoo
