So it’s not about the “comeback”, it’s just that you don’t like Reed. Why the hell do you click on a Reed thread.

So why are you even replying / responding to me?...go back to my first post in the thread. And like most people here I open threads to see what’s going on regardless of rider or opinion of said rider.

Why in the press release does it not mention JGR? I understand they are the factory Suzuki team , but they worded in the same way James's old team was. Why I was confused a bit ago.

Jeffro, it literally says he asked to test the bike at JGRMX's track. It mentions team manager Jeremy Albrecht and then lists JGR's website to go to for more info at the end.
You're right. I hadn't read the whole thing , just the header. Which threw me off.

JGR Team Deal with Scott, Chad has a personal deal with Oakley.

From what pictures have been released it looks like he's running Scott on the bikes graphics and Oakley goggles.

Glad to see two brands come together to get a bike on the track.
According to Matthes' twitter he will be wearing Scott goggles. Wonder if it will have any effect on his Oakley deal at all.

Who cares where he comes?, lots on here sadly!, maybe you should just be happy for one of the great moto riders ever to still be out there riding for us to be able to watch, and enjoy watching while we all still can..... Show some support for a man who wants to ride, can ride and is going to race!. Go Chad!.

I hope Chad does well so he doesn't look like a complete tosser for saying he can beat anyone on our mxon team, based on his present practise form ( well he does look like a tosser for saying that at all)
I wonder what people think ...how do you think Kirk Gibbs and Mitch Evans would go at Iron man in the 450 class?

How do you think Hunter Lawrence would go in the 250 class? Chad just stated that he's faster than all of them..
Remember when Ferris was coming to race that national last year? Most Americans here thought he wouldn't bust the top 10..he proved otherwise and Gibbs and Evans are his main rivals here...

Does Chad back up his statement by going top 10 overall, or does he need to finish higher to convince us he's faster than the others?

He may go 15-DNS but I’ll be pulling for him all the way. His 09 year on the zook was my favorite year for him. His set up will be the best looking on the track and that counts for something haha! It’s like the old slow guys at the track with the best bike and gear. Bling bling mothafuckasEvil

Doesn't need to convince me of shit. I already know that if he's fit and able he's the better option.

Not all of Aussie moto fans are shitting on a guy that put us on the map.

I'm not shitting on the guy at all...hes the one that made the statement..I think it was rude and unnecessary, totally lacking the class others like Metty display.....Id still like to see him do well..but I'm not gonna be a blind , loyal to the core Chad fan anymore after what he said...it was a stupid thing to say

Does one race qualify as enough races for Reed to blame the bike if he doesn't win?
does the first negative comment qualify you as dickhead of the week? its a resounding YES..

maybe next week you wont solidify that, but i have my doubts..

I’ll always be excited to see speedy reedy behind a gate. This would of been his last ever chance to represent his country so I can understand his emotions. If he had of done say the last 3 nationals he would of been picked I think.

he wears his heart on his sleeve, and speaks his mind right or wrong.

he put himself in a position where he CAN do that and no fcks given.

he doesnt have to keep quiet to keeps his job or be allowed in the mx "inner circle"

hes lead the kind of life most here could only dream about..

hard to see whats wrong with all that?

That's all fair enough, other than he hasn't raced mx in 3 years and stated publicly that other than Ferris, he can beat anyone from Australia...if he can he can...but how about a little grace and humility?
Some people are going pretty hard on the line that Chad has been our best guy ever...no doubt he has..but where is the respect for the guys coming up now? Pretty sure those guys all have a lot of respect for Chad..how should they feel when they read that Chad says he's faster than all of them...hasnt raced in years but without question, still faster, my recent practise sessions prove it...
Look...im hoping Chad goes great this weekend, signs a contract races next year in both mx and as, does well enough to be picked for our mxon 2019 team...
Right now..Id be impressed beyond belief if he were to issue an apology for saying what he said..regardless of weather or not he is or isn't actually better than the other blokes

Well I don't think that's true.. So if he's fit and able he's instantly a better option than Gibbs and Evans?
Dunno what evidence you're relying on there. Maybe he is but what are you going on?

Just because I'm not accepting everything he says as truth doesn't mean I'm shitting on him.. I was happy if he was to get his final des nations, but then he started spruiking about how much he deserved it and how he could beat the guys chosen while not doing any races or showing any video of him riding. Then having a go at Byrner and shit! Just rubbed me the wrong way. Given all his recent outdoor results and effort at past des nations (the Latvia interview is still ringing in my ears) I can't believe he expected to just get the nod..
As I've said I'm still a fan and can still see him (hopefully) gettin podiums in SX next year.

Loooking forward to watching one of the greatest of all time swing a let over a bike for his last outdoor race of his career. Not very often people go out healthy and on there own terms, will be great too see no matter the result. Haters gonna hate, but it will be good for the sport either way

Well who said this will be his last outdoor race? I'm hoping that it isn't .
But if he goes really shit..it may well be, specially given what he said recently. Plenty of Chad fans will be watching to see if he can back up his words and we will be intolerant of excuses...if he hadn't boasted that he is faster than all other AUS riders except Ferris, there would be no real story here other than " yay " Chads racing a national

he didnt get to where he did by being humble..he got there by using his ego....

not everyone can be a dungey.

and lets face it if sm was as huge as it is now goat might have have had to pull his horns in...

i was trained to be a top swimmer by my dad, life long profesional sports man 90 % swimming, champion, top coach, owned a swimming school etc etc..Laughing he instilled in me a very very competitive and outspoken edge..

got me into a lot a trouble in social situations outside of sport...in my late 20s

in my late 50s im still mouthy, (as if you hadnt worked that out..lol)

just saying when you job requires you thinking you are the best and every week or two, you have to prove it to your competition, your team and fans..
you need an edge..everyones different..
its not a popularity contest.
this is sports physc one oh fookin..
beat into me from an early age..

TWO TWO MUTHA FUCKA! How does JT$ feel about this.
JT$, Weege, and Steve talked about this during the Budds Creek post race podcast. JT$ said that Reed is not physically ready, but he planned to be in race shape for the MXDN. They all gave their prediction for his finish. Weege said 10-16, Steve said 10-10, and JT$ said 9-DNF.

If he gets a good start, I'm going to guess 8-10 for moto 1 and DNS/DNF for moto 2. If he gets a bad start (15th or worse), it could be 11-15 and DNS/DNF. From what I have read, I don't think he will have the endurance for two motos. His conditioning just isn't there yet. The ankle/foot injury took much longer to recover from than he expected.

Let me guess....you find that line interesting because you think he has used those words so he has an excuse if he doesn't do any good on the weekend...am I close?
Just in case I am close....there is nothing interesting about that line at all. The guy had a plan in place to be at his best fitness in six weeks time and not at his peak this weekend. He is merely stating a fact. Chad does not need to use his fitness, or lack of preferred race fitness as an excuse if things don't go as well as he plans this weekend. Sure if it goes that way this weekend he may well say my fitness wasn't there but not in the sense of using it as an excuse, merely just stating a fact.
Haters will say he is using that as an excuse....real mx fans will know otherwise!

And so are the anti Chad guys in positve thread about Chad Reed. If you don’t like him just stay away. WGAF about where he finishes. No one expects him to show up at the last national and win. So yeah 5 to 15 is realistic what else would you expect??? Its not hurting a damn thing him being out there...Let it be

Exactly this. Whatever happened to just enjoying this sport and one of its legends, who at 36 and a half(!), is still giving us a show?
