Chad Reed to contest the Ironman National with the Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team

Far better than I expected too. You can never count out his skill on a bike and burning desire to prove people wrong that his dad used to good effect growing up, but seriously I thought his fitness level would not be up to par. There was the mud equalising effect and a shortened 2nd moto for him to see how much he spent in the first moto and what was left in the tank and if he could string 2 solid motos together also to take account of too. Looked great on that piece of "under powered, over weight" Suzuki too. He looked comfortable. And a comfortable Reed is ........

he just slapped thousands of mouths shut and threw egg on their faces.
awsome result for him and fans of the sport..

at least a few have shown they are strong enough to own their
slagging...

fan for life
I hope you're not including me in the 'slagging' I never said he'd go shit or that I wanted him to I just wanted some evidence to back his claims.. (just for myself to believe, no other reason)
And I got some, I'm still not convinced he's way better option than Evans or Gibbs but I wouldn't hate if they put him in either.. I just want the best available team

Chad, don't be like James, just retire gracefully, please!!! Guy could blow any of our socks off and deserves the recognition of his accomplishments, but this is becoming a broken record / beaten dead horse with these "comebacks".

So what are your thoughts on Reeds performance today?

Was riding my new dirt scooter at ACP today. Didn’t watch the race so can’t give an opinion / honest answer there. Sorry. Not sure if you’re trying to fish or something? If he did good, good on him! If not, I'm sure he'll be back.

I’ve largely stayed outta these threads but there is a saying that goes it’s not talking shit if you back it up. Mud or not, word was he was doing Chase Sexton’s and Weston Peicks times and clearly he’s in shape.

Since Aussie is almost without doubt not gonna be contending for a podium, i’d have liked to see him get a chance to do it one last time in the USA where he has made his career, without a doubt the best Aussie ever.

He always says what he thinks, some don’t like it, doesn’t bother me... but it is cool to see at 36 he can still twist it like that. 36 is old as fuck for moto! Hope JGR makes space for a bike next year, would be cool!

I had a woodies cr80 we traded it on a stock rm80 in 89 as the rm was better. Woodie put an answer roost boost on a Honda 80 and painted the stock pipe white all did nothing the suspension was done whole thing cost a mint and wasn’t really any good. Was my last Honda before a long rung of Suzuki’s that’s still going almost 30 years later.
My mate had a shop deal with him for years and we would go hangout at the shop and stare at his daughters norks all day (she was older than us).

EDIT: And indeed his CR's were always shit, trick, but shit.

I passed a a pretty good condition 93 WMW CR250 still rego'd on the side of the road for sale about 3 or 4 years ago for only $3200. Didn't have the money or means to borrow it due to the coal down turn at the time. That nearly made me cry and still does to this day.

Funny how all of the haters can't admit the dude can still ride. No matter what anybody thinks, a healthy in shape determined Reed can win on any given day. A lot of people doubted him yet again, long time fan of chad, I expected 8-12 considering the circumstances. He exceeded my expectations and proves people wrong time and time again. He's a bad dude let's hope we see him in 19

We got suckered in by the whole sales pitch ADB advertising and more was a very disappointing bike. I got a chance to ride a stock RM80 for south side Suzuki truck team and loved it so we asked if we could go to Wheelstanders to do some laps and I was 2 to 3!seconds quicker in the zuk. So yes trick looking but shit I bet the stock Honda would have been better. At the time Cameron McFalrane had a trick KX80 with WP USD forks was so sick his bike was always jealous of that bike and I was never a Kawasaki person.

Now someone give the guy a ride for 2019! How much hype good or bad has he made this weekend. Is something every team and sponsor wants. 5-8 and countless threads even made the home page a few times. Barcia goes 1-1 and nothing I couldn’t find a single thread just a small mention on the home page. Tomorrow Barcias 1-1 will be forgotten but you all will be bitching or defending old Chad. Me I love the sport and what he did this weekend was good for the sport.

All I can say is how much better it would have been if he had not run his mouth on team Australia, instead just wished them well, then went out and got this good result.
Hope he gets a ride and has a good year in 2019.
I'm not a fan anymore though..
Nobody cares. Sucks to suck.

The young ones should learn from this guy. He’s looking for a ride for 19 and has put himself in the best possible position to land a spot. Says he is a few weeks away from being “in shape” comes out stone cold to the outdoors on a new bike in terrible conditionsand proves that he’s in great shape and can still ride at the top. More time on the bike can only improve the results. Hope to see him on the line in 19’. He’s great for the sport like it or not...
