Wonder how much money he has saved up to go racing on his own dime, especially if KTM starts making him pay back all his earnings because of the suspension? I am sure its been tough on him not earning a paycheck from the last couple of supercross races.

I am not sure how many professional riders would by a stock buy and go and race it. Especially a caliber rider like Tickle will need suspension and likely motor work before feeling comfortable on the bike.

Why? The rules are simple, they give you a list of banned substances.
For someone with a full time trainer, this shouldn't be an issue.

No one said it was blood doping. Other things are banned besides blood doping.

Kind of weird how everyone gives the guy a pass. Just because he's nice and a really good person doesn't mean he wouldn't cheat. There's a lot of money on the line and he wasn't performing that well. There are a lot of compelling reasons to go for it. And he wouldn't be the first.

This is NOT a substance that accidentally shows up in food or nasal spray or whatever. You can't even buy it in most states and it's a well known performance enhancer. It's also well known that it leaves your system quickly so if they didn't test at that race, he would've been fine.

Is it possible that it was an accident? Sure. Is it likely or probable? No

That being said, I agree that the penalties are ridiculous and not appropriate for this sport and it sounds like WADA are ridiculous to deal with. It is these guys careers, they deserve transparency, communication, and timely actions.

I obviously don’t know for sure but would lean towards a pass considering the massive list of banned substances by certain organizations, how insignificant of an advantage some of those can provide, and how often traces of them can end up in things there’s no way you’d suspect have it, or even have them listed on a label.

With all that said, I too would want some pretty specific details on what they claim to have found before someone else decides my career is over.

I feel bad for the guy, but if I was getting paid multiply 6 figures I'd make sure I knew everything I was eating or drinking. Both tests are positive, what else needs to be said? How many times have the other riders been tested and noone came up positive like this. It's not like he's being set up, unfortunately it's in his system and it's against the rules, case closed.
It's about to get very ugly.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a press release from KTM real soon regarding this situation. Someone is going to be cut..Aldon isn't immune from that either.

It sounds like Tick’s lawyer is setting things up for defamation. Which honestly, I’m very on board with.
Yep. I hope he pursues it.

I don't know what to believe about what Broc says, I want him to be innocent.

A wise man once told me some advice in situations like this..."Act Surprised, Show Concern and Deny, Deny, Deny!"

Sounds like somebody has seriously lawyered up on this one.

Sadly, the nature of the system is to make it virtually impossible to overturn a positive test. Seems like Tickle wants a fight to the death on this one, and I hope he changes the f'ed up system that is in place now.

I don't know if he did it or didn't. But I do know that anybody that has been caught, always denies it.

You would have everything you eat chemically tested for banned substances and also test for for any and all food combinations that could create a positive result...?

I agree. The penalties are a bit much but what should they be? At least a year IMO. At least. Possibly even surrendering every win before that time as well. Reed said it best - these dudes get tested all the time. Reed himself said he was being "watched" or something and that they had tested him a lot more than other riders and, guess what? He passed each test.

The good thing Broc has going for him is his public demeanor looks great. He's a "good guy". "He wouldn't do that...". Well, obviously he did. Intentionally or not he took it. I like the guy, I think him and his family are good people. But he messed up and he's paying for it.

If James can't get around the ruling, Tickle has no chance IMO.

It seems like methylhexan (what Tickle was tested positive for) is found in a lot of dietary supplements however may not be listed on the ingredients. It is also a component of the oil from Pelargonium graveolens, which is approved for use in food.

Aldon just helped KTM/Husky get their 4th 450sx title, repeat 250E sx title, and about to attempt defend the 250 outdoor title. I doubt he goes anywhere unless there is some kind of hard evidence of him being accountable.

If the promotors won't step up to fix this situation the riders should form a union.

The riders would need to man up and say "we're against these penalties. A rider should be disqualified for the series, but not multiple years". Then boycott a race - all of the riders - shut it down. See how good a show happens with no riders! Then negotiate from strength. The agents could step in and help make this happened by leading with the top riders getting on board
.
I doubt it will happen… no balls! If I was one of those top agents or a rider… I’d work to make it happen. Nothing will change unless the riders take control. Leaving it up to the bureaucrats and nothing will get solved. A rider boycott is the best way to show strength. Man up.

I don't think it's as much about "no balls" as much as it's about their contract. They are contracted to ride that race. Sitting out would make a powerful statement, but who knows what it would do to their contracts. If you were making quite a bit of money as a top 5 guy, would you risk it due to some other guys failed drug test? I sure as hell wouldn't.

If they all sit it out.. .if they band together...what are the factory's going to do? Hire a replacement rider? Another one that sat out the race?

It has to be a group thing. Commitment. 100%. Another way is the factory teams could band together. But best to have all the riders do it. Put the control in the riders hands. Time for a union.

This is completely insane! Robinson Canoe MLB player was suspended 80 games today, half of his (work)Baseball season, for violating MLB's drug policy.I totally get players union and all! Whether Tickle was try to get an edge or not doesn't really matter to me,I'm talking about the severity of the punishment. A death blow to this young mans career seams pretty severe!

Saints RB Mark Ingram is only suspended 4 games for violating NFL PED rules.

He can say all he wants to. Truth is, if he really thought he was 100% innocent, he’d have appealed the suspension and continued racing until he’d exhausted every option and they forced him to not be at the races. Especially with how high up he was in points.

He failed two drug tests and was suspended from racing, not sure how they come up with defamation.

So all the riders who are abiding by the rules, and have tested clean, are going to band together and boycott a race because the guy who got busted is in for a penalty that’s too severe?

I don't know what else needs to be said but I'm sure Broc would appreciate someone, with the appropriate authority, saying more than they have been thus far.

We are several weeks into this and it seems that the consequences of the violation remain undefined.

I say/post this with due respect, as I'm a fan and take no pleasure in sparring with you sir...

PS: your moto hauler is sick dude!

That is not at all how it works. You do not think he would have been racing if it were possible?

If the VitalMx members here were on the jury for a trial. Just wheel the guy down to the cell lock it and throw away the key. Everyone can go home.

Stewart continued to race because the outdoor nationals weren’t technically under the FIM umbrella. The middle finger to the FIM didn’t go down well with the folks who were going to be dishing out his punishment.
