I said it right after his interview.

If he hadn’t tried to say it was Eli’s fault that they came together and owned the fact that he made a very aggressive move for a win I’d have less of a problem with it.

There’s no arguing that it was dirty, however, in certain situations, last lap of a 450 main event being one of them. Dirty riding is acceptable. But damn man. Own that shit, you did it, anyone with eyes could see it.

I’m an Eli fan, I know he’s no angel sometimes, but when he puts someone down and gets asked about it he lays it all out, like Coop at Daytona. “He was cross jumping me so I went for the takeout”

Simple, to the point and people understand. Marvin should have done the same.
seems its not just us "redneck" Americans it's rubbed the wrong way then.

All you guys with boners about MM25's aggressive pass on Tomac better come out in full force support when Eli lays a good one on MM25 the next time he passes him. We all know it's coming. As Eli said, it won't be anything stupid. But rest assured, he's not going to be polite/clean the next time he passes MM25. So when he does it, I'll expect each and everyone one of you to own up to it.
MXDN would be epic!

I liked Marvin and was pulling for him until he pulled over for Dungey. As a matter of fact I didn’t like Dungey as much after that either. In football isn’t that considered “points shaving” or boxing, “taking a fall”

Why should it be any different for SX?

Actually in football it would be considered blocking for a teammate. There are no teams in boxing so it’s hard to compare the two. Been going on in Motorsports since the beginning of multi rider/driver teams

I feel completely the same. Throw in the majority of the top 10 last year was always KTM/Husky and didn't seem to put up the usual fight when Dungey was behind them.

Ahahaha boo fucken hoo..

Oh and that's bullshit I'm assuming there was prolific disgust when Barcia claimed he didn't know Kenny was there when he whipped it at him? Everyone gonna boo Stewart for his various I'll be back's? There's plenty of blatant lies being told and not a lot of prolific disgust..
Not saying it's all cause he's French but I'd say a lot of it is due to Eli being 'all American'..

In my opinion booing is about the fucken lamest thing anyone can do

Yes he has. This year in supercross he has done it and last year outdoors he did it several times.

Many (myself included) think the pass was okay, and would’ve done the same for 100k (and what now appears to be 3 crucial points). It’s his bullshit trying to explain it away that gets me. If he had said “I’m out here racing for the win, 100k and 3 more points that could prove important, I’ll do what I need to do” I’d have totally respected that. I think many others would’ve as well. But when you are in an enthusiast spectated sport, don’t insult a fan base’s intelligence by giving a bullshit answer when most of us have been on both sides of aggressive passes/take-outs and know it when we see it.
This!

Stare the interviewer in the face and say it was on the last lap for $100k and the win. I will go for it every time. Then say no more, because there is nothing more that needs to be said.

I wonder if they would boo the “POS German” if he “took out” Tomac?

Yeah I get that and would've rather he owned it too, but he seems like a dude that doesn't like to upset people and he had thousands and thousands of people booing him which I would say is a first for him and I'd imagine he just wanted it to stop and made an excuse.. I don't think that's a reason to hate or criticize someone though, be a little bit disappointed in them maybe, but I don't know what I would have done in his shoes I wanna say I'd own it but I can't say for absolute sure and I don't think anyone else can either

Very well said.

Marvin is not like webb, barcia or herlings that dont give a shit what anybody thinks. He seems like a really nice guy that wants the crowd to like him. I think the booing got to him and he tried to justify it by bringing up similar scenarios with other riders etc.

Im not saying its the right thing to do, but an angry crowd gets to you.
Marvin had alot of excuses and jason lawrence would have said "f*ck all of you and showed the middle finger" and probably end up fighting someone in the crowd lol. People react differently in moments like that .

I dont get why people are SO angry at him for the pass on tomac, we see agressive and dirty passes all the time in this sport. Are people extra angry because hes not american? I see ALOT of people on Instagram calling him a french f*g etc etc.
here's my take...

there were a couple monster shirt and hat wearing heroes right behind us and the one dude was boo'ing pretty hard on the opening ceremony. other kid goes "why is everyone booing him?" and Master Booer goes "i'm booing because he broke my guy's throttle tube last race" and Apprentice Boouche goes "oh, what a douche" and proceeds to boo and then boo's when Marvin comes by with a 10 second lead and then boos again when he does the heel-clicker at the finish. they also lost their minds every time Tomac passed anyone.

also, dude lost his fucking mind when Tomac wrecked, started yelling "fuck Bagget piece of shit" and then they showed it on the big screen and there was no contact made and they still booed him when he came by. then when Tomac passed him later in the race, Master Booer yells out "yeah thats what you get you dirty prick"

me and my family were all wearing TLD/GoPro/KTM hats (because Pierce Brown) and i kind of feel like Master Booer and Apprentice Boouche rained a little harder bacause of it.

oh well, glad Marvin kicked some serious ass. loved seeing all the salt.

gnarwhip? That guy is a clueless Tomac/ kawasaki fan with his blinders on. . . pay no attention to him.

He's also upset that Osborne made "lifelong enemies" with Savatgy in Vegas last year, and took out his boy Forkner also. Probably was one of RV's nut swingers also.

Anyone remember Pourcel being boo'd and abused, at a fair few US Nationals during his battle with Canard a few years back?

And once, he had the temerity it give a few of the pricks the finger, while he sat on the side of the podium. And a fair few wankers got upset with him for doing such a 'terrible' thing .....

But, to my recollection, Canard took said pricks to task during his podium interview for being the bastards they were. It was a great thing to see and hear from a competitor of CPs.

To top it off, at a race (or two) after (the one where Pourcel did his shoulder in, losing the Championships) , in an interview with Canards Mum, when asked who she was going for, she said Pourcel, with a mischevious smile on her face. Now, it certainly was a joke from her, but She won a fan in me from her cheery, generous nature. You could see where Canard got a fair bit of his bonhomie from.

And then you get to the pieces of shit that were abusing JS and his Mum (at, I think Southwick?) . And, other places.

I read through this post and it doesn't seem like anyone can answer the question. Yes, he was booed A LOT! During opening ceremonies, when he won, on the podium. He looked like he was about to cry during his podium interview. and not because he won. My wife and I waited for him to walk back to the pits and there were a ton of people cheering him on at that point. All the booers had left and he got the cheers he deserved.

I'm not a Musquin fan at all. Tomac is #1 for me. Do I think the pass was very aggressive? yes. But I think Tomac would've done the same thing. Anyone would've. It was the last lap for the win! if it had been like the 3rd lap, that would be a different story. It may have been Dirty, but ANY rider in that position would've done the same thing,

That does sound like the typical SX fan haha. I've seen and heard guys over the years do the same thing , and all I can do is shake my head. I've seen some dirty shit out on the track over the years too....and never , not once , have I ever boo'ed at a rider. Even if I couldn't stand the rider , I appreciate their skill set , which is to be admired. Dick or not.....if you can ride that fast , I'll watch and appreciate it.

It's not straight up when Eli is always crashing himself out.

I was in that crowd and I was disappointed with my fellow New England fans for booing him that much. We were all cheering to try to offset it, even tho it was a clear takeout, but I think that was a little much. Its racing. It happened its done move on its not that big of a deal. I had never heard an entire stadium boo that loudly at a Supercross event and Im sure he hasn't either so it probably took him off guard. He seems a little bit shaken up since the last few times he's been interviewed because his entire career he's been the nice guy and was always seen as the guy that wasn't aggress enough. I'm sure its a big change. Either way I don't think its going to last too long, hopefully not, and then everyone can move on.

Not sure if you are watching racing in 2018 but in the last two races, both Tomac and Marvin lined up on the same gate and Marvin has won 2 races in a row.

I guess a "450 win and 100k" wasn't as big a deal for Marvin last year.

I think he's frustrated and has been spending too much time reflecting on all the "what if" from this season that would easily result in him having the red plate right now. He should just stick to what's brought him here and not change anything, because his frustration is only going to hurt his consistency in the long run.

Sounds like you were sitting in the asshole section! Crap like that can totally ruin the day when you're trying to enjoy the races. Was the Master Booer drunk? Sounds like a real winner.

I see that kind of stuff at every local norcal supercross/outdoor for the last 15-20yrs. One of my favorites was when a handful of fans absolutely drenched the toyota truck with chew spit. I didn't think they could cover the entire cab and front end in chew spit, but they really went the extra mile and made it happen.
