If I made the same amount of money I do now but got free bikes and gear, I’d be a lot richer.

But who will lean against it for your 50K in Louisiana?

Maybe teachers aren't that smart then and shouldn't be teaching?

You guys are ridiculous, he is pretty much the poster boy for Monster, look how many promos and ads this kid does a year. 90K seems lite to me IMO

There are countless other dudes benefiting from nepotism (which, admittedly, Axell does) that make far more and do far less, even within this small industry.
I don't think you and others here understand what nepotism is. Axel Hodges having a rich father who helped fund his lifestyle is not nepotism. That's what many would mischaracterize (and demonize) as, simply, "privilege."

Nepotism is a very different thing all together. Axel makes money doing cool shit on a dirt bike. Good for him.

And his brother being the guy who makes all the Monster videos has nothing to do with him being in those videos?

No, his dad invented some kind of fender toolbox/tool holder and does something else, but he has no relationship with Monster other than his kids working there.

I agree with people saying $90k sounds light, considering how much Monsters runs his Slayground commercial during the races.

I think he builds houses or does some type of developing. I don’t know for sure but on his Snapchat he always goes up to some spot where they’re building houses. Just a guess.

Again, how is that nepotism? What you're suggesting is that Axel and his brother's jobs existed before them and that they were given special favors by family to get those jobs over other equally or more qualified people.

You are forgetting to recognize that their jobs didn't exist in the first place. Axel and his brother created their own thing with their own talent and were able to partner with Monster Energy to capitalize on those talents. They created their own thing(s), supported by a wealthy father. Good for them. Not nepotism. It's nothing other than two dudes making cool shit that people like and getting paid for it.

They actually produce something that people like and consume. How many people can claim that at the end of the day? It's an envious and admirable way to make a living.

Cute narrative, but Axell was like 12 years old when Dirt Shark got Monster backing.

I’m jealous of anyone who has the talent to make money riding dirt bikes...so good for him! I probably love riding as much as him...but I have to pay out of pocket to do it...because I don’t have a sliver of the talent he has. Life isn’t fair!

And I’d tell him the same thing I tell all young people...pay yourself first and don’t spend more than you make.

I think I read a Forbes article that says in the greater Los Angeles area you need to make $131K as a single income family to be able to afford the median house price that hovers around $700K (for a dump mind you). And this is to ensure you aren't house poor.

Fair enough. Guess I heard wrong. Not hating on the kid, he has unreal skill on a bike. More power to him.

90k is a lot when you live with your rich ass dad and mom. Probbaly doesn’t pay a dime for bikes/gear/parts and didn’t he get that Toyota truck for free? He’s basically pocketing 90k to do whatever with

Also vital really doesn’t like this kid. Bunch of jealous old guys Laughing Laughing

No shit! I'm jealous too, but I give him props making money doing what he loves. So him and his brother start a successful brand because of his brothers video company, get a deal with Monster and make a good living. Isn't that everyones dream? Good for them. You guys are super bitter and It's actually comical to read the salty posts.

Thomas Convington’s dad is a big wig at Monster, so the story may have originally been told that a talented rider had a family connection to Monster, and people assumed Hodges because he was in so many of Dirt Shark’s videos.
