These guys lived down the way from me in Elmira NY. Both his kids were fast as shit. I would drive by their house on the way to Corning and was always stoked to see bikes and trailers in the drive.

His voice was the nationals for me. Reminds me of the days of Power mist, Dyno-port, and 125 Novice classes with 75 riders, the smell of 927 and BBQ chicken at Broome-Tioga Sports Center. He's the epitome of getting out and living life and he made a huge impression on my life and let me believe that someone from Elmira can do big things in the world (besides Tommy Hilfiger).

Rest in peace Erv. I always wanted to hear my name "in the #1 ride". You are Motocross for me!

I saw his sons FB post around 11 last night west coast time so maybe 2 a.m. on the east coast.
Erv was a great guy and helped my wife get picked to do the National Anthem at A1 in 2008 and Phoenix in 2009. He was as down to earth as they come. I don't think the man ever met a stranger.

I had the pleasure of working with Erv on multiple occasions at various events. Listening to him throughout the day, he kept the flow going and could always make you chuckle. I can say I am blessed because not only did I get to work with him, but know him on a personal level as well. Long before I worked with him, I was blessed to hear him work the events I raced as a kid.... He and Lynn together made those races memorable, and always made you feel at home. RIP my friend, forever missed.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I've never heard a bad word spoken about him as a man or a friend. That's as impressive as it gets in this world. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Godspeed Erv! I was fortunate enough to announce alongside Erv at a few amateur events. Really funny guy with a great wit about him. I will miss his hearing his voice.

So sad. Supercross won't be the same. Felt good knowing the announcer was from near my hometown. I grew up in Horseheads and he always mentioned the local upstate boys on the broadcasts.
