The highest placing 250 2-stroke guy in MX2 aus championships ship was 10th place. Of the other 9, 7 rode KTM and Yamaha so it's not like the option wasn't there

Depends on the rider.
I consistently turn faster lap times on my YZ 250F than my YZ 250 and my KTM 350 and a YZ 450 so it has a lot to do with the weight power delivery and what makes a person most comfortable.

Jason
So a four stroke 250 has more horsepower than a two stroke 250?

About 99% sure the head to head exhbition will see RC on a four stroke that Australian race team prepped for him and will be running RC's U.S team graphics.

There are photos of RC's bike for the weekend on Insty.

That exhaust note echoing through the empty stadium sounds so effing sweet!

I seem to remember back in Reeds days on the YZ 250 that a 60 hp number was mentioned. Anyone else remember that, or I have I just sniffed too much mixed gas?

The simple sound of a 2 stroke blitzing whoops , is just the best sound in the world. Gawd that is like music to my ears.

It may start out as an exhibition but as soon as the gate drops, I think RC will get that familiar "RED MIST" in his eyes. We all know how much he hates getting beat, Let alone by Reed.

I love my yz250. However after riding my yz450f for a month, its hard to go around the track on the 2 stroke.

Two stroke against four stroke in Aus, pretty much comes down to the traction in the dirt, as soon as it's slippery the four stroke kicks butt. While there's heaps of traction the two stroke power kicks butt.

No problems mate.

How good is the sound?! Seriously, 4 strokes are better, but the sport was better with a field full of freshly tuned 250s cracking through whoops and being pushed so hard to go fast.

Racing couches sux by comparison.

No way they just ride and cross line together.
When that gate drops, the bullshit stops.

This is one of my favorite videos lately. That is beautifully done. Don't get me wrong I love me some dub steppin' motorcycling but this was like deadmau5's take on a motocross video haha.

It is so raw and seems to fit the motif of Chad Reed's career over the past few years.

He is watching a replay of the video here, but I wonder what he is thinking right now. It looks like a little defeat and a glimmer of hope.

I really hope Reedy is able to get out there and be strong. He is a guy who deserves to be the champ. He wanted to grow the sport like McGrath. He wasn't out there because he had to be. He is out there because he wants it.

Depends on the rider.
I consistently turn faster lap times on my YZ 250F than my YZ 250 and my KTM 350 and a YZ 450 so it has a lot to do with the weight power delivery and what makes a person most comfortable.
