Roczen wins what he wins on a bike that has practically been built for him, because apparently he knows what he wants and feels comfortable with. I don’t think Chase knows that at all. I think he’d be the same overthinking head case on the HEP Suzuki OR the Star Yamaha as he has been on the Kawasaki.

So I've barely read any of the posts in this thread. Whats the consensus here? We all know Chase is a headcase. He's my favorite rider, if I had one, but its just a fact. That said between him and Jorge having issues, its not all on Chase. At what point do top riders not want to ride for Kawi? Are we already there? Yeah a JCoop level guy would ride for them. But if I'm Hunter Lawrence no way am I chancing going to Kawi
I think if Chase exits his contract early it will be a disaster for Kawi as a factory team. There will be a lot of rebuilding and restoration of reputation required before any genuine factory level guy will touch them. They obviously have money and could pick up a fringe factory/satellite level rider who cares a bit less.

I actually don't think anything changes for him after the W last night. Listen to the interview Lewis did after the race, you can "read between the lines" that the result was nice but this doesn't change anything. The underlying issues are still very much there.
Pretty sure Chase knows that if Hunter doesn't crash, Chase doesn't get that win. Hunter not crashing = Kenny pushing to the end and either him or Hunter wins. No reason for him to be overly pumped on that win
This is the same bike Masterpool had a breakout year on, in I believe 2023 on a 450 privateer bike that earned him a ride on Pro Circuit for a stint. It's the same bike Marchbanks won Rookie of the Year award on. It's the same bike Chase got 2 SX 450 wins on. It's the same bike Chase IS NOT getting made fun of for "tucking" the front end as he had so many times on the Honda and KTM.
If Chase wants out of the Kawi contract, it says a lot about Chase and a little about the Kawasaki 450

Did Chase race all 17 rounds last year on the Katoom?
I'm not sure how many he even raced this year? To me, Chase was a disappointment this year, so I do agree with you. Considering how many manufacturer's this year couldn't get 2 wins in 450 SX, I'd have to say the Kawi is highly capable.

Yes, all rounds last year. The star at podium percentage this year means it`s calculated based on his 14 starts.
It would be more fair to compare his first year on KTM and not his last and best year on KTM….I believe he only had 2 wins that year too…
