If we don’t deal with them now our children or grandchildren will have to. Same as immigration. The #1 name for newborn boys England is Muhammad. They’re probably already F’d. Trouble in the Middle East sound familiar ?

Muslims account for roughly 6.5% of the population in England and nearly all Muslim parents name their son(s) Mohammed for religious and cultural reasons. When it comes to every other demographic there is far greater diversification and variety in choice of baby names. Which is why Mohammed is #1.

If the majority of Floridian parents named their son Hank it's likely that the #1 boys name in America would be Hank.

Let’s pretend for a minute that the US is successful (whatever that may be) in removing this regime, what happens then?  It’s pretty clear that they don’t have anyone lined up to take over, so now we’ve essentially thrown the country into civil war as various factions try to take power and fill the vacuum, does that seem like a good way to solve a refugee crisis?

There won't be "boots on the ground" and there won't be strikes against civilians...most all infrastructure pertaining to civilians isn't in the cross-hairs, either. Nope. In-fact, when it's all said and done...we're likely gonna go in and offer help reconstituting their already thoroughly worn out civilian infrastructure. Namely...they're out of water and their water infrastructure is failing. They need help there...with infrastructure...lots of help. Help for The People of Iran, that is. Seems the Mullahs prioritized their Nuke program over the needs of their people. Go figure.

Everything needed to remove their weapons programs...Nuke, Bio-Chem (NBC) and various conventional sytsems...and Ballistic and Cruise Missiles/Delivery Systems...Drones...some military facilities...ports...key logistics/major distribution centers...and maybe a few Mullahs...

Everything needed to hit all that stuff is already in theater. From reaching waaaaay down underground to the elimination of large energy sector infrastructure...again, all that's needed is...

In the neighborhood.

Over the last few weeks, Iran has been attempting to harden the targets mentioned including covering tunnel entrances with dirt/earth and attempting to add earth to previously bombed facilities from op's like Midnight Hammer and the 12 day ass kicking that Israel gave them before that.

In the so-called "talks", where all they're willing to talk about is their nuke program...well...it's obvious that they're only trying to buy time. They want all sanctions lifted for cutting back their nuke program.."cutting back"...and no inspection guarantees are offered, yet...so, uh, no.

Our people want them to stop making and get rid of their ballistic missiles and some other weps-systems, cease all proxy activity...and we want their Nuke energy programs cut to international medical standards with COMPLETELY OPEN & REGULARLY SCHEDULED inspections.

And all of that's gonna run out, the talks...that is, around the end of next-week.

By that time all the Hornets & Growlers, Lightnings, Raptors, Eagles (Eagle II?), BUFFS, Falcon/Vipers, UAVS, UCAVS...Lancers? Spirits? ...well, you get the picture...and all the other systems and support ac will be on mission and in the air (Actually, seems that they already are and the Ford is in the Med to go along with the Lincoln...which has been hanging around for a while). Btw, anyone heard anyone talk about where the SSGNs are...? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Anyone in the media mention anything about attack subs? Seems there's no reporting on certain weps systems this time?

I see that most the "near-by" THAAD systems have gone "mobile". Nice. People stationed "in harms way" have been moved & some were sent home. Again, Nice!

Those numerous cruisers that are over there...they're the Anti-Ballistic variety of cruiser. Cha-Ching!

We've got 2 Carrier Strike Groups...and ships representing...hell...how many fleets?

As far as preparations go...

Over the last few weeks, more C17s than you can count carrying more tonnage than you'd believe...have been delivering the goods. From "thru-out" Europe and The Med, Jordan to Bahrain, The Kingdom to Diego Garcia...systems are in-place and on-line. Never-mind all the seas systems used to stock up the facilities in the region over the last six months...the 5th Fleet is based in the region...

Sadly, I don't see how Iran DOESN'T do their usual stupid shit. Like I said, they're seemingly trying to buy time...well...

It's time.

Time for the Mullahs to go.

It's time give the people of Iran a chance. The death-toll of the recent uprisings is now reported to be as high as 30,000 with another 30,000+ "disappeared".

But, hey, I could be wrong.

I hate the Iranian government, and aggression would be a direct slap in the face to Russia. I still think war with Iran is not US responsibility, we’ve paid enough in Afghanistan and Iraq.  That said I’ll pray for quick ending to this and safety of our troops.

It’s not our responsibility, but they can’t have nukes or keep funding terrorism, killing civilians. The only way to stop that is getting rid of the regime. Also, if Trump is a “man of his word”, he will do what he said. I have 0 confidence he will do the right thing, at this point.

Honest question, which movie script is this from? The platform roll call + ‘unreported assets’ + countdown-to-action vibe feels really familiar……

I pray you are right and it doesn’t turn into another Afghanistan. Our politicians think they can win hearts and minds which history has shown to be long drawn out strategy. We turned Afghanistan back to the Taliban after 20 years which was a tough pill to swallow. Vietnam should have taught us as well. I guess what I’m saying is there’s no such thing as lobbing a few bombs and calling it a success based on recent wars. It’s gets drawn out over years.

I’m of the opinion we can’t afford another war and we should be doing everything in our power to prepare ourselves for what China and Russia are planning and hope it de-escalates. Let Israel and NATO deal with Iran.

I read an article where one of our top generals reported that we don’t even have enough munitions to handle Iran. If true, we better be careful.

But, hey, I could be wrong.

Respectfully, I gotta disagree on this almost entirely.  Unless you have some inside sources with access to information not available to the public, here is where I'm not board:

- From everything I've seen the number of deaths and disappearances  during the protests has been massively inflated, like 10x what it is in reality in some cases.  I'm not at all saying any of that is right, anyone being killed for protesting is absolutely against any reasonable moral framework, but the embellishing of these numbers to justify an aggressive war isn't helping anyone.  There are also reports of agitators turning these protests deadly (likely CIA or Mossad affiliated like most color revolutions are), which points to US involvement rather than organic movement.  We also have US officials in the Treasury bragging about how they have "destroyed" Iran's currency and economy with sanctions, which is the main driver for the protests

- Before the 12 day war we had pretty good visibility on Iran's nuclear enrichment program.  Once we pulled a sneak attack (during negotiations I might add which is pretty screwed up) we lost all visibility since they kicked out all inspectors after that whole episode.  So the question remains, why even go down that path in the first place when Iran posed no real threat of making a bomb, or showed any realistic desire to?  The status quo was a hell of a lot better than the position we're in now, and that's entirely of our own doing.

- This supposed nuclear threat from Iran makes no sense based on the narrative the Trump administration is pushing out.  On one hand we have Witkoff claiming Iran is somehow "weeks away" from a nuclear weapon (I don't even know how many times I've heard that in my life), and on the other we have Trump stating that we have completely destroyed their nuclear facilities and rendered them incapacitated.  So which is it?  Those statements are fundamentally incompatible.

- Can you name a single conflict where targeted strikes did not end up killing significant numbers of civilians?  Even our supposedly quick and clean action in Venezuela took out over 100 people, many civilians.  There is absolutely no reason to think civilians will be spared in a bombing campaign, and Trump himself even threatened significant civilian casualties in a recent post.

-   Asking Iran to give up their ballistic missiles would be suicide for them.  Without those missiles as a deterrent Israel will blow them off the map the first chance they get.  We went into negotiations knowing damn well they would never agree to that, and it's been reported that Iran is willing to stop all enrichment which was the initial goal all along.

- Every one of our allies in the region is asking us not to start this war besides Israel.  Turkey says don't do it, UK says don't do it (they won't even let us fly out of their bases for this), UAE says don't do it, etc.  Nobody else is on board with this because of how destabilizing it will be.

- I also fundamentally disagree that it's up to us to determine for the Iranian people what's best for them.  We're almost $40T in debt with completely unsustainable inflation, we have no way to pay for this besides digging even further and further into the hole and are in no position to be dictating anything for anybody.  All of this money and all of these resources could be spent on fixing our own collapsing infrastructure and addressing our issues here at home, but instead we think we have the God given right to remove the agency from people halfway across the world and decide what's best for them.

That's where I'm at.  Nothing but respect for you Manny but I really truly don't see how this ends up any better than Iraq or Afganistan, and I don't want to see any of our guys die for something that could easily have been avoided.

Would like to clarify something in your post. UK isn't saying no because we are worried about destabilisation in the region, but because UK security services are advising any attempt at regime change in Iran from the air won't work. The other big issue is that any unilateral action would likely not be in line with international law.

Here’s a couple: Midnight Hammer & the bombing of Qasem Soleimani

-Every one of our allies in the region is asking us not to start this war besides Israel.  Turkey says don't do it, UK says don't do it (they won't even let us fly out of their bases for this), UAE says don't do it, etc.  Nobody else is on board with this because of how destabilizing it will be.

Sure, this is what’s said in the media…meanwhile….several of these countries host our current operations…gladly.

I’m not in total disagreement with your concern (frustration) over our debt from these actions and our constant need to be The World Police…but, we are in disagreement over what we seem to think we did or didn’t know about the Iranian Nuke program and/or what they were/are really up to.

I’m stoked that you’re as familiar with these things as you are. We’re just seeing it from different perspectives.

It does read like the opening pages of an OG Clancy…doesn’t it? 🤣

All that information is avail to you…to anyone that cares to look it up or find sources beyond the dismal media fast food that plagues our devices and televisions. I’ve even dropped some in here…apparently to no avail.

No worries. Here, let’s address the obvious…

Last time, they told us where the Subs were…this time? Crickets.

Also, where you see a U.S. Fleet…you don’t see the protective submerged assets. And there’s…what…3 to 4 Fleets represented…?

No worries. We’ll see how this plays out or not.

The funniest part: some of you really have a problem with my posts, it’s rather entertaining.

I'm old enough to remember that the oppressive Iranian regime are despicable lying pieces of feces who do bad things in the world every chance they  can and deserve a reckoning on a big time scale and IMO Trump was justified in taking out their nuclear capability.

I'm also old enough to remember that nothing really works out in the Middle East when we try to "help" and push for regime change .

The Iranian people deserve a better situation but looking back at how Iraq, Syria ,Afghanistan, Tunisia,  Libya etc has turned out I'm cautious on our involvement.

Maybe the Saudi's can step up and be the Middle East cops for a while?

There's a cost to doing nothing.

What percentage chance of a nuke falling on the US or an allied country are you OK with?

Got to have a very fun and honest talk with Steve at the end of the night at Arlington...you know,"Is Kawasaki doing it right?!"...and it was a great and very "reminiscent" discussion.

He's a smart and hilarious dude.

The F22s have been Forward Deployed to a hardened air base in southern Israel where they can hit Iranian targets directly…quickly…and with much better mission security/operational security than other air bases avail to them…like Incirlik, for example.

Meanwhile, negotiations are moving on to Vienna after nothing tangible being accomplished in Geneva.

I have been to Iran, it is one of my favourite places in the whole world. The people are absolutely amazing! Kind, helpful and curious. Even the conervative people are very welcoming of strangers. However the conservative side are very dark in their practice. It’s very strange, because most people you meet will speak of the Shah in a positive light, and are liberal or not religious at all. But when meeting with muslim conservatism, the painting is rather bleak. The last thing I’d want for the country is a destructive civil war. The country’s history is so amazing, rich and old, that potentially destroying it would be a loss for the entire world.

Having said that, I think it is right to intervene regardless. It’s a country of (mostly) prisoners of a fundamentalist regime. I had a very interesting talk with an Iranian last week (moved out in 2019), where we exchanged some ideas. Basically: «what would happen if the Shah’s family returned to Iran?»

What is interesting is that it would bring more stability to the ME region. Yes - a civil war might happen, and Iraq may export insurgents. But Hamas would not have funding, Hezbollah would not have funding, the Al Qaida government of Syria would not be next in line. Every Gulf state would be at peace and not have issues with Iran (no longer Shiite). I think in the grand scheme of things this could be a better outcome than status quo.

Everything is in place, why more talks? It’s ridiculous to make a deal with them, as they wouldn’t abide by it. I think Iran is dumb for not taking whatever deal is put in front of them. They wait 3 years and go back to business, as usual. This also totally dismisses the fact that they killed thousands. It’s such a disrespect to the people that fought for their freedom knowing they were risking their lives.

Here's a pretty wild piece from Politico that really goes to show just how far the deep state will push this issue and what they're willing to do to kick this war off.  And before anyone says "they would never do something like that", may I just point you to Covid lockdowns, the Epstine files, and funding a proxy war in Ukraine. . .

https://www.politico.com/news/2026/02/25/white-house-politics-israel-strikes-iran-00799456

Here's a few key quotes from the article:

"Trump administration officials are privately arguing that an Israeli attack would trigger Iran to retaliate, helping muster support from American voters for a U.S. strike."

"The calculus is a political one — that more Americans would stomach a war with Iran if the United States or an ally were attacked first"

The translation for that is they know almost 80% of Americans do not support military intervention in Iran, so in order to persuade them they're willing to sacrifice the lives of American service members and Israeli civilians in the hopes that will turn the tide and generate support for the war effort.  Look, I don't care what side of the isle you're on, this is absolutely disgusting behavior to even discuss this as a possibility, and I think it goes to show their true motives here.  Take it for what you will, but I don't see how anyone can believe any of the lies these people peddle to us anymore.

Yup, I just  turned on the TV, after a day of machining / welding / being 'dangerous' in the workshop, and there it was - videos and reportage  of missile / bomb hits.

I remember the pictures and trip reviews you posted here about vacations you spent in Iran and North Korea. Fascinating stuff.

I've got a lot to say on this but I'll try to keep it short and hit on a few areas that seem to be the main pretexts to justify this war.

- The 30,000 number of protesters killed is a complete hoax and has been pretty thoroughly discredited at this point.  Most estimates range in the 3000 area, with nearly 1000 being Iranian police.  This is obviously unacceptable by any standard, but it goes to show that these have not been peaceful protests like western media would lead you to believe, and if they were they wouldn't need to lie about the fatalities.

- It's very likely that these protests are not organic, or if they started organically they were very likely intensified by intelligence agencies.  Mossad has a massive intelligence network in Iran and you know damn well they're going to use it, and the CIA has been heavily involved there for decades.  This is the same strategy we've seen since Vietnam over and over again, but in this case it looks like the regime change protests were unsuccessful so we now have to move on to different means.

- A lot of the economic hardship that brought on these protests were created by the aggressive sanctions that we put in place against Iran, so there's that. . .

- I've heard literally my entire life that (insert middle eastern country here) is "weeks away" from enriching uranium to nuclear weapons levels.  It's been a straight lie every single time and it will be this time to.  We actually had full oversight of Iran's nuclear program (everyone is entitled to clean and safe nuclear energy as far as I'm concerned) and could track all uranium entering and leaving the country, but after we bombed their nuclear sites they pulled out of that agreement and we now have zero oversight.  They had no way of actually building a nuclear weapon before, but now they very well could if they chose to since we (or Israel) made such a stupid and short sighted move.

- Diplomacy was never on the table.  When Trump called for a diplomatic solution before the last attack bombers were already in the air, it was a complete sham.  For a supposedly aggressive nation Iran sure did seem to exercise a lot of restraint by symbolically striking back at a vacated part of our base, and even called us ahead of time to let us know where they would be targeting.

- Finally the real kicker for me, we have zero business getting into any kind of foreign confrontation regardless of how justified any misguided idiot may think it is.  We're almost $40T in debt, the Pentagon has failed it's last 8-9 audits in a row with hundreds of billions of dollars completely unaccounted for, and the last conflict we started in the middle east cost us approximately $9T, a huge amount of which is completely unaccounted for.  We have failing infrastructure, a joke of an education system, and massive government fraud at levels that are unfathomable, and some people still want to go even further in the hole for a regime change war we have zero business fighting?  Give me a break.

Pleasantly and extremely surprised to see someone on Vital able to filter information about a geopolitical situation through a fairly neutral/unbiased lens.

Every other time I've looked at non moto it has been typical US State Department propaganda, which is why I usually completely avoid the board.

Just wanted to say thanks for providing some evidence that people into moto are capable of critical thinking

Sending other people’s kids to die in war on the other side of the world at Israel’s behest.

This is the guy that wanted a Nobel Peace Prize? The President of Peace? Remember the whole “no new wars” promise during the campaign?
