I love this!!!
I'd like to piggyback off this idea. I am a dentist in Scottsdale AZ and if any privateers are passing through AZ I would love to give free exam/cleaning and if treatment is needed I will provide all the labor for free ( usually the most expensive thing)

You’re a class act Jmicmoto 👍. We grew up with “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” drilled into us. Pretty solid advice if you ask me. You’re attitude is refreshing. Thank you for trying to leave this world a better place than you found it !

Not wanting to get political, but is the stimulus check for everyone, even those who haven’t lost their job/been furloughed/suffered financial hardship? So like, would Tomac get one?

It's an adjusted gross income threshold system. No, Tomac would not get one due to his income level.

Just got the 2nd stimulus check. I am beyond blessed and fortunate to have a job I love, and not have had any financial hardship over this pandemic. Having just received this money, and truly not needing it to pay my bills, are there any privateers or riders anyone can think of that I might be able to donate to? Not saying I will give any single rider the whole lump sum, but would like to try and donate where I can. Any suggestions?
I’m not trying to tell you how to spend your money, you earned it, but the majority of privateers have fairly well off parents and are able to eat every night. If you really want to make a difference, donate to a deserving injured rider or a local charity that takes care of underprivileged kids.

I’m all about helping the sport, but privateers have chosen their life, some people don’t.

But could someone on lower income, but who hadn’t actually suffered through the pandemic restrictions get one? Like, say, a supermarket worker or gas station employee?

Yes. I am far from rich but hadn't missed a paycheck during this whole pandemic. It's not based on current income or employment status. Anyone married, earning less than $150k who filed taxes jointly, will get a stimulus check. There are single filer and head of household thresholds as well. It uses your last year's taxes as reference.

It’s based on Adjusted Gross Income which leaves the door open for lots of people that haven’t been affected, job wise.

I was at Chaparral yesterday, the line was long and there were many folks openly talking about spending stimulus money.

Back to topic. Good on you Jmicmoto and the dentist for giving. I’ll be sending help somewhere as well

Also, thanks for the insight as I typically donate/give to people and never accept anything in return but reading here today opened my eyes to the return gesture

As a few others posted, I agree, tho I don’t know him, James Marshall seems like a good choice.

I think a lot of you are missing the point of stimulus. It’s sold as helping people out (which it is), but it’s meant to get money flowing in the economy.

For example, I used mine plus a bit more to buy a small CNC routing table for 3DP Moto. This purchase not only helped out another small business, but in theory should allow me to expand my product line and generate more income down the road. Taking that money and putting it in a savings account helps nobody and loses value by the second, at the very least invest it into some sort of asset.

You might be a better accountant than engineer! Cool

The check is ether cold start in a can to get the economy fired up!

Exactly ! I don't care how anyone spends their money or who they want to help out with their money, but I don't know where this common misconception came from that the privateers racing MX are some downtrodden group of riders who cant afford their next meal or some down on their luck people who cant pay their rent. If you are racing you have some disposable income and or have some sort of financial backing from family or you wouldn't be racing to begin with. If there is a motorcycle in your garage then times are not that tough.

Old truckers are starving and broke. Shocked by what little some make. Many days of the year, they don,t eat. There is no minimum wage standard and many days of the year they don,t earn a dime. Buy some meals and help many out. They would be more great full than anyone else.
