It is clear that walking is still an issue, but it seems that hauling ass is no problem. Damn impressive win by Jett. Great ride on a crap track. He really looked like the old Jett out there hopping and floating over the bumps. I’m still concerned about the ankle suffering a setback or holding him back at certain tracks but for now the “is Jett OK?” talk can cool down...

Exactly this. Accusing him of being a headcase is about the most intellectually lazy comment you can make. No one gets to this level by being a headcase. He’s not out there thinking about fishing. His riding style bites him every single time. Weak brains get weeded out in amateurs.

i have my right ankle fused & have virtually 0 up & down mobility. It's much better now than it was when i was trying to ride with plates & screws. i had mobility but it felt very painful a lot. Walking downhill or down stairs was the worst, like Jett getting off the podium. I ride now more than ever. it's coming up on 5 years since my fusion.

It was better than amputation which was originally what they wanted to do. Miserable. Can’t sleep. Can’t stay in any position too long. Knocked it on the toilet taking a piss and laid on the floor for 20 minutes crying. My doctor was amazed, 45 days in and I was walking in the iilazarov. Yes, Jett suffered a potentially career ending injury. He’s soldiering through. Honestly, it’s probably the only time it’s not killing him is when he’s riding, because he’s not focused on it.

Severely commutated (shattered) talus. That’s an illazarov fixation, worn for three months. Limped severely for two years, couldn’t jump off a curb. Range of motion is gone. If I walk too much, I’m limping the next day.

They need to send him to speech classes or something. I get what he is trying to say, but he sounds like an idiot when he says it.
