Consider Sexton, and Tomac at times. Fast, but chronic overthinkers. RV said he never overthought racing. RC - same way. Stewart did sometimes, but was speedy enough to rise above it.

Deegan is the best we have. Unless Tomac can get back to his early season speed. It ain’t looking good for US born racers, other than Deegan. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the current crop of riders in the 250 class is not good. I can’t think of anyone who is capable of battling for future top 5’s in the 450s other than Deegan and Davies.

Let's hope not but I didn't see the fall off the cliff that happened after Daytona either. I would love nothing more than for him to be in his best form outdoors but IDK. I've never seen a collapse like we have witnessed these last 5-6 weeks from a multi time champ. Especially when the start of the season was so damn good. If he struggles outdoors, there's no way he comes back in 27.

The unspoken truth we all hate to state is our amateur system is broken. We don't have many fast pro 450 riders compared to Europe. The USA's population, wealth, and access to riding areas dwarf other nations, yet in our indoor premier championship the top two were not born here. As said earlier, regional 250 champs are often foreign born. Our amateur system is built to separate parents from dollars, not build winners. And the training facilities do not seem to be a positive. Kids need gate drops, not more money spent on the bikes, and they need to get...
