Walter Added a reply to Ducati + Webb 2024 Rumor

You are correct...which is why I said " if they pull the trigger..." My take is that MX/SX is too much a niche sport, especially when compared to MotoGP, for them to take the plunge. But, as we all have seen through the years, sometimes logic and reason leave the building when these calls get made and corporate egos prevail.

Money will not be an obstacle here if they pull the trigger. The VW Group owns Ducati. The VW Group includes Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini and more.

7 years ago I had L4,L5 and S1 fused. Full on decomp and fusion. I had polio as a kid and had a swervy back. Racing dirt bikes and off road cars for decades did not help. L4 finally slipped over the front of L5 and there was no space left between L5 and S1. Big surgery handled by an...

Pretty much anything with wheels on it (including pro bicycle racing). My favorite as a spectator is probably non-winged sprint cars on a dirt oval. No tire or fuel in race strategy, just 25 laps of gotta make the pass now mayhem.

In the mid-70's a buddy of mine and I made the journey to SoCal from Tucson to hit some local tracks. I was a rank novice on a 125 Elsinore and he was a local pro on a Bultaco. We hit Irwindale on a Wednesday night, I recall somewhere else on Friday and then went to Saturday Saddleback. In morning...

Track owners make millions? But really, even if all the semis and training camps went away, you would still have massive turnouts for GNCC events and stuff like that. There would still be people that just absolutely haul ass and smoke everybody that everyone else would try and keep up with. And it would still be a shitload of fun. There are soooo many people out there who ride dirt bikes that have no idea who Eli Tomac is and don't give a damn if their "kit" matches.

Perhaps the answer is that dirt bikes are no longer selling in great numbers (exception: a bit of a Covid-induced bump) and MotoGP is the halo series where the money is spent due to a better ROI?

There was/is a mx van conversion company in Tucson or Phoenix that did/does race set ups. Race Rigz or something like that. Any of you know of a company doing this kind of work in AZ or SoCal? Thanks!.

I feel your pain regarding the back. I had bad back issues that culminated in a major decomp and fusion of my lower back 9 years ago. I also am plagued with bad knees (surface cartilage pretty much worn off). I have raced a number of different vehicles, so let me share my experiences. This may be more than you...

Does anyone down here in Tucson ride trials? I spoke with some folks at a recent AVDRA race here who ride trials and that kind of kindled some interest. I have been surfing used bikes/prices, but would like to find some folks to ride with here.

Some dealers get away with this because customers will accept it. Some years back I was hanging out at my local dirt bike store (a large dealership) on a busy Saturday morning when a fellow charged in waving a piece of paper yelling at the co-owner up front - "I told you I could get the bike cheaper!" The owner...
Most magazine subscriptions now do the same thing. Welcome to the new definition of "customer service". I will second the comment on the ability of merchants to now move the charges to a new credit card. All in the very small print of your contract.
