Firstly you need to get 2 top level riders from USA in MX2 & MXGP. Then it’ll increase the USA chances of having a riders within the title hunt once the series comes to them. As long as the elite US riders are more interested in staying national riders because it’s easier way to make a living, then I don’t...

I don’t think cementing your countries status as the fastest motocross nation in the world is “bragging rights”. It’s about racing your heart out to try & be the best, as a national team. If all US riders were programmed to do was maximise earning potential, risk rewards, then they should quit racing & go work as a stock broker...

Coming off of 250fs in my early 20's I really smoothed out my riding style when I hopped on a 450. Over the years, though, I felt like I was losing my edge. Just getting lazy and losing my ability to carry momentum through corners etc. Overall it just felt boring yet dangerous if that makes any sense. I'm a little big for a 250f now but I decided to pick one up for a year or so just to get my mojo back. The 15 YZ250F was freaking GOOD. Loved that bike but it served its' purpose and I...

If Luongo has done such a poor job, then how come MXGP has been the most competitive motocross series for at least a decade ? Why do the MXON winners come from MXGP?

It’s hard to argue with that as I’m sure one of he top riders would have stepped up by now if it were their goal. I hope one day it changes. A top US rider in MXGP & MX2 would be great for the sport.

Because money can’t buy a world champion. It seems the pride in representing ones country on a global scale is getting lost in America. I don’t believe it’s really down to earning potential, there is huge earning potential for a US world champion. I think it’s there isn’t a US rider that has the self belief required to do it.

As far as i can remember he tested in Italy and Spain before the first GP and that’s about it. He and Rattray did all the training in US and that’s just a testament to that he was never really in to it, that’s why i would love to se a US top rider live and train in Belgium for a whole year, riding the Dutch championship on the off weekends like the rest of the MXGP guys does.

People need to get over this. MXGP riders make as much as any US based rider. Their champion and race bonus money is just as good as supercross offers. They have a much higher tv viewership than supercross. Supercross is the highest form of 2 wheel racing in America, not the world.

I wonder how many practice tracks RV got to visit during his short career. My guess is he didn’t visit them all. Riders like Herlings, Prado, Hoff didn’t wax your ass at Redbud by practicing on goat tracks. It’s true some of the flyaways arnt as ideal as e European tracks, but sometimes thats what goes with the territory of...

There’s not been US world champion within the modern era, so no ones knows the earning potential. My guess is it would far exceed any national series indoors or out.

That’s definitely not true. The problem here is the OP’s technique is okay for a 250 but not good enough a 450. For most amateur racing it’s not a fitness things, it’s just the riders haven’t developed the throttle control. 450’s need to be ridden a certain way, short shift, smoother riding in general.
This is just an example of the limitations of riding within a stadium. A jump that size with a more forgiving landing area, with out tough blocks is common to see within mx. Sx is narrow, peaky & needs to be limited more. Sx suits slow speed, less air time. Like JW was saying, maybe it’s time to start restricting...

Is there a debate? Does anyone knowledgeable about moto really think the US can beat the Euros outdoors? I thought that gets answered every year at the MXdN

Hi, I currently use an Atlas Air with a Thor Sentinel, it works well in general. I am now ready for a new armour, and there isn’t a lot of stock local of sentinel, so wondering what other combinations have worked well for you guys? If you are far enough you dont understand that everything has to be done until Dictator Putin is gone. You can tell 4 million people who have fled to other countries because their homes and lives been bommed or thousands innocent people who have been executed by war criminals, that one guy needs to have his rights to race? Reality here in Europe and being border neighbor is different. Im sure Bobby has nothing to do with it but he can race next year as others lost their lives.
