Where would he ride and train over here? Any chance he is at Aldons?

The wife and I were already planning for Thunder Valley and MXoN... But if Herlings does commit to AMA this year, I'd have to find a couple more that I could get to... Probably Washougal and Pala.

I just wish Herlings and Cairoli would get their asses over here and end all of this endless speculation about who's going to kick whose ass...

Doubt anyone has anything from the beginning to the end of the season for Tomac.
Moto and overall wins will be had by others.
But he will simply out diesel everyone until the final round.
Just like the current SX series.

Herlings and Cairoli will definitely have their hands full with more than just Eli.
Ferrandis.
Anderson.
Sexton.
And even craig if he gets his husky dialed in quickly.

And if we have track prep like last year, not ripping some tracks as deep, that may play into our rider's hands as well.
The racing was much better on the tracks that were minimally prepared.
Few GP courses aren't ripped shin deep, and watered down to near swamp consistency.

Is there a debate? Does anyone knowledgeable about moto really think the US can beat the Euros outdoors? I thought that gets answered every year at the MXdN

US gets 3 riders for MXdN, and how many euro countries are there? Little bit of an advantage when half the field is from somewhere in Europe.

Yeah but its still by individual country, not all of Europe. I dont understand what youre saying. Those countries might as well be states.

Thats my point, if they're basically states then the US should send 150 riders, 3 from each state.

I’m just talking about how obvious it is now. I agree back in the day the US had a pretty good dominating run. Not so much nowadays tho huh?

Herlings is KTM’s only hope for an American title this year. If he wants to race AMA they’ll make it so.

Wtf diff does it make how many countries there are. We get beat by a diff country every year it seems. Sucks but it is what it is. The only excuse we have is that we only ride nicely groomed tracks. If we still ride Saddleback, Carlsbad and Southwick et al ungroomed like we did bitd I’m sure we would be winning like we were bitd. Don’t worry we still have supercross……for a while at least

They can barely get 3 to commit, let alone multiple squads.

Name a state with three good riders that have a chance of winning besides Florida or California where they change their residence lol. We have a lot more to pick from because it is the potential of 150 riders.

Yup we get waxed every year by small little countries with small pools of riders to pick from, compared to all the riders the US has. Kind of embarrassing huh?
What was your point again?

Find out what? What country we’re going to get beat by again? My guess is France or NLD. I did say people that are knowledgeable about moto. It’s so funny how Nationalistic some of the Vitards are, like we are less of a country or they are less of a man when we get beat by riders from other countries. Unfortunately imho we need a true World Grand National MX/SX series to have a chance anytime soon. If we keep grooming our tracks like we do now it’s only a matter of time before they learn SX too

I’m not picking and choosing anything. The US has more MXdN wins than any other country. Does that make you feel better? (It does me, cause it’s all I got now) my only contention was. “Is there still any debate”. It’s been proven over and over for years that as a team we can’t keep up like we used too. It sucks and I don’t like waking up at 3:00 AM every year to watch another debacle anymore than you do, but it is what it is - until it isn’t. Hopefully this year no? I’m not holding my breath and I suggest you don’t either…I am crossing my fingers tho.

Cant argue with the "back in my day" folks. Things change. The US isnt dominant anymore. Tough.

What if a "one-off" TEAM race isn't a good barometer of which country has the best motocross riders?

It's not like motocross talent cares about imaginary lines on a map...Americans are just as talented...it's a matter of focus, and a bit of luck.

America could easily go on a multi-year MXdN win streak...and they could easily lose a few more years...the mxdn isn't the best gauge of riding ability...

Nope no need to argue i give credit where its do. Well maybe people will stop bringing up races. From 4-5 years ago. Cant have it both ways.

Every single time this thread comes up, which is a lot, I feel like I'm the only person who saw last year's outdoor season.

If Ferrandis is healthy, I expect all others to be chasing him again.

Knowing Ferrandis his start skills, he will be more on the chasing side then the others. But if they’re able to keep up for a full moto and 24 moto’s will be a different thing.

6 weeks. Time is ticking fast for Herlings. This week he will meet doctors and get permission to start riding if everything is ok.

NLD could bring an awesome team this year, swapping out Van De Mosdjik for Kay De Wolf. De Wolf is an incredible talent, could be the next Herlings IMO. Would love to see the US beat those three, but it would be a challenge for sure.

I don’t want involved in an argument like this because quite honestly it’s stupid but Tomac, Anderson and Justin Cooper could win against any country on any given day when all healthy. The Netherlands and France are phenomenal as well. There’s only 2 countries that I can think of who have a legitimate shot at winning with various riders and that’s USA and France. All the other countries if you take away 1-2 top guys they go from maybe winning to barely qualifying (or not) for the A main.

But seriously, any news on Herlings recovery? Had not heard much in a couple of weeks on where he actually is health and recovery wise.
