The cops found my bike. I saw a picture of it painted black and rusting outside . It looks like a Taliban hostage. I don't have details other than it's in police impound and I'm going to restore it to race it again Thank you for everyone understanding and supporting me

I've re-read this entire thread and I'm still not sure if you actually tried bump starting down a hill or being towed . If you haven't tried those methods ,you need to. You've got to see if these things even run at all before you try to get them to start easier.

If it's, as you say, in decent shape for a decent price, get that 500. As, they are ever becoming more pricy. Continue on with the 250, then go to work on the 500. Then, you'd have quite the pair of great Motorcycles to ride.

That bike and in that condition under $2000.00 would be it’s worth. Unfortunately it has the appearance of someone took the plastics and other easy to remove stuff and rattle canned it. The rear brake reservoir appears painted. The rims, spokes and hubs appear painted as one. A buyer near that amount of $2000 would have to know little about what this model should look like and just want a bike. 87 CRs near stock are desirable for restoration. It's now over 1 1/2 years i have this VRP aluminum chassis kit at home. Some very nice footage of Arto running near the front at a few GP's back in the day. Last film doesn't seem to show so much of Arto but he got a good 4th place in the 1st moto. Some serious quick riders and multi World Champions in those videos- Arto could run with the best of them on his day.

So find a set of 81 YZ250/465 forks in 43mm.. Which are the same forks found on the 82-83 YZs and 84/85 IT200 and 83 IT250. That the biggest set besides aftermarket that should be allowed in the YZs up to 81 are allowed in the class.
