Hello all,
I am about to undertake a resto on an 86 CR250. My goal is to build it like RJ’s 86 (of course…lol). I have started tracking down some parts. One thing I ran across was a couple builds referencing replic HRC power valve and ignition/clutch covers. I’ve been able to find the clutch/ignition covers from someone, but cannot locate the HPP covers, which have the external bolts (which I’m guessing were/are for adjusting the power valve preload or similar). They mentioned getting them from Italy but so far no luck. If anyone has a lead I’d appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has the codes for correct powdercoating on the frame and engine I’d appreciate it. That said, maybe cerakote is better for the engine? This bike will be mostly or completely display only, and I’ll be building a more utilitarian second bike as a rider.

If its a display bike, i would use 2K wet paint to get the right color.

Contact willy.frasca@libero.it about the HRC Replica covers, I got a set for my 89 build. I think he is from Italy and it took about half a year for him to make and ship them but it was worth the wait.

Thanks for all of your replies.

I did have one other question…I’m looking at getting spec bolts resto and engine kits. Since I have the 89 clutch cover mod, would an 89 kit work on the rest of the motor (since I’d need the 89 set for the clutch cover/side case)? Or are there other differences for fasteners on the 86 vs 89?
