Cr250 1987 worth and now for sale

I picked up a 87 cr250 to ride at vintage races. Long story but I decided to go with 82 rm465. My question is how much is it worth to sell. It’s totally complete. My plan was to restore but never got to it. It’s in decent shape and not been sitting in the sun. Radiators don’t look bad so not sure on water pump. Gonna get it washed and started in the next week. Also has a good Pro Circuit pipe. Is it worth 1500 or 3000. No idea. Thanks

It is worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. I have a 1987 Honda CR250 sitting in my garage that I am working on right now that I bought for $150 with the Pink Slip. Just needed the impeller surface area J.B. welded until I get the 1989 CR250 case to replace it. Also I got a 1988 Honda CR250 with Pink Slip a few years back that was thrown in as a freebie on a trade that I was doing. I ended up selling that bike for $800 plus the guy threw in a KX125.

But $1,500 would be a good starting point to throw it up on an ad site for post vintage group for.

Here it is. Got it running 3rd kick after I washed it and cleaned carb. Sounds great. Perfect restore bike. I think its David's bike with the custom blue backgrounds and Mitch's one off pipe.Haha. PM me if you are interested. Its going on Craigslist now. Thanks.

A light cosmetic restoration would certainly help it sell quicker. Afterwards, spray some Maxima sc1 high gloss coating on it.

I have a semi- rebuilt 87 cr250, bought to sell but I kinda fell in love with it.Has new seat cover, freshly powder coated wheels, big bore kit 310, rebuilt carb, new fork boots, little bit of protection stuff and freshly painted motor, brand new tires and tubes probably a little more missing. Just wanted to know what these things are going for and if you had this bike what would you do ? Lol thank you for the help

If it was my bike, i would repaint frame and engine to stock colors, Flash red and semigloss black, beacuse it looks better to me and keep the value up as a bonus.
And definitely take a close look at the waterpump!
I would ride and race it, keep it in good shape, those are really good bikes.

That bike and in that condition under $2000.00 would be it’s worth.
Unfortunately it has the appearance of someone took the plastics and other easy to remove stuff and rattle canned it. The rear brake reservoir appears painted. The rims, spokes and hubs appear painted as one.
A buyer near that amount of $2000 would have to know little about what this model should look like and just want a bike.

87 CRs near stock are desirable for restoration. Maybe one of the most popular for a 80’s era bike.
For someone to buy it and restore it they would want this cheap. Maybe $1000.
To get upwards of $2000 or more it would have to look more original.

If you do not want to nor have time/resources to restore it than finish it and ride it as TT suggested. A chain, lower swingarm guide block and some bolts/washers/nuts about $100 or so.
If those sprockets are worn putting a new chain on that will shorten the life of the chain quickly.
