I was using this scanner. I bought it about 5 or 6 years ago. I think it was about $50. It scans prints, slides and negatives and works pretty good. Some prints I shot with my phone camera, not many though.

This was racing, partying, shooting pics on the Nor Cal race scene. I raced, partied (I did this mostly) and shot pics from the early 70s to 1984. When I started it was not uncommon to see 2 125 and 250 novice class races at a event. It was a popular sport. It thinned out pretty quick though. Riders found out there was a lot more to racing then cow trailing. Plus that DT 360 was a handful in a race. It was crazy fun and i loved every minute of it.

A lot of the pictures have stories. Like the pic above. It was a Trans Am qualifier in 1974 or 75, Livermore, Carnegie Cycle Park. All national riders had to qualify, national champs on down. It was like a national with 100 spectators. Marty Smith and Tommy Croft show up with pre-production Elsinore 250s. After the race we wondered over to the Honda pits. Marty was there kicking back. Me ,"Hey Marty how'd you like the bike?" Marty ,"Hey, want a beer?".

Here's one of my favorites. It's Pierre Karsmakers and Jimmy Weinert at Sacramento Raceway.

Thanks for the pictures! I can only look at my Modern Cycle 1975 magazines so much. The Marty photo would make a great poster.

Thanks willbilly. I remember that day well. Marty was the man! Bob Hannah beat him that day. It was the first national at the old Hangtown track in Plymouth CA. Both of the pics of Bob and Marty are in the same turn. I couldn't believe it, I mean Marty was unbeatable. I knew who Hannah was but beat the 3 time 125 champ.☹ I kept hoping Marty would take control but it never happened. Hannah went on to dominate that year.

For some reason I'm not able to post pictures from my tablet. I can post them from my phone but not my tab. My tablet is all jacked up, it won't email either. Unfortunately most of my photos are on the tab. As soon as I figure it out I'll post more. My wife says my tab is jacked because I look at porn. Motorcycles and bicycles are porn right?

Pat Richter and Magoo. This is probably around 1975. Typical Sunday in California. Pretty lightly attended at Prairie City OHV, this before Hangtown ran here. Richter and Magoo dusted the 250 pros. They were never much further apart then this. If one would stumble the other would wait. Like I said typical Sunday in Socal or Nor Cal.

Pauliemon-

What an awesome & insanely cool treasure-trove of photos...!! Thanks so much for sharing them!!
Like was mentioned already by another commenter- its great to see some vintage photos not already seen 1,000 times.

I also can't help but notice from your photos and others that I've seen in the past that it looked like Magoo raced about anything he could get his legs over or that he could beg, borrow or steal from someone... Its amazing how many different bikes, brands, and models I've seen him on...

I hope that you have a large stash you can continue to share.
I also liked yours with your Maico... You have great taste in photos and bikes.

Thanks again for sharing!
