Here's a pretty sweet build that I went way overboard with. There are very, very few parts that aren't either new or NOS. I never had one when I was a kid (had CR80) but I love the looks of the KX and when the opportunity came last year I jumped on it. To name just a few trick items, the engine is the 100cc factory option which was then worked by Tom Morgan. Custom built YSS shock and converted to 428 chain/sprockets. The list is almost endless. ...

We got this monster finished off and out into the sunshine yesterday. The new owner had come a long way to pick her up! It's really cool to see someone so visibly excited with something you have put so much effort and time into. The only thing that will be swapped is the swing arm. The prototype for our Alloy swingarms, is being made at the moment! So this will be having one once the production ones arrive. Stevie

Ok, its hard to tell if its running right over internet. But does it sound the same and rev quick when you loose power? If it does, i would look if the clutch is slipping. If it dont, try to explain how it feels and sound, maybe a record with your mobile?

When engine loose power, how does it sound when you give gas in neutral gear? If it revs slow, maby the crank is to wide? Spinns free when cold but expand when hot, and too tight in cases. You put in C3 bearings?

Here is my 83 Mugen. Tank is fiberglass, cost major $, and leaks. It’s getting coated soon to fix that. Brand new Ohlins rear shock and Fox Factory forks. Russel did the right side cover and I fitted a new impeller gear on the original shaft. Works great!

I think I´m developing an addiction.. I was going to buy a frame and some engine parts for my CR480 -83, and this followed me home, along with the frame and some boxes of engine parts.. It is built around 13yrs ago but never ridden, i am very tempted to finnish the build and take it for a spin...

Thanks! The shocks are crap, they are only there as mockup. Its built for Maico shocks 390mm (490 -81 i guess) and all I got are longer 445 and 470mm. Does anyone know the stroke of Maico 490 -81 shocks?
