You cant consistently get 15Th + starts in the 450 class. Having said that, once these guys filled in, he kept pace. Certainly a good showing. Starts suck though.

Deegan will get better aswell, but the biggest challenge Deegan will have even if he gets up to speed is having to compete against three holeshot kings. Hunter, Prado and Jett (Jett today with his worst starts ever I think) will be upfront while Deegan likely has to play catchup every single race.

It’s Deegan’s first 450 MX race. I’m not saying he will beat Jett in the future, because Jett is phenomenal, but Deegan does look really, really good out there.

Pretty sure that’s not a RacerX interview….it is an article about the excerpts from the Dirt Shart video….Many of you guys are like the middle aged white Karens that chase ICE around…This weekend can’t get here soon enough….can we just enjoy the races?

Had Kitchen not cleaned him out I doubt he would have rode so desperately against Shimoda, but I still don’t support that way of riding.

Eh, not a Deegan fan, but I expect him to play it fairly safe in the 450s. At least for his initial season. I'm sure either he knows or people around him are telling him there's no way he can "play with his food" with the big dogs. If he blasts Jett off a berm, he'll be paying for it forever. He doesn't have a brother or any friends out there.

I think there is definitely going to be a learning curve and struggles along with some success. I fully expect Danger Boy to win some motos and overalls. The championship may be a bit of a stretch, but I wouldn’t be surprised at the end of it all, he was hoisting the number 1 over his head. At any rate it’s gonna be cool to watch ,week in and out.

To your point, racing backwards and taking yourself out is indeed not going to fare well in 450's. But can't deny his amazing speed and fitness, he'll be fine and continue to mature. AC talked about the 250 guys mentality of kill or be killed that isn't present in 450's.

I too expect Deegan to have a few "moments" that keep him from winning a championship this year. I also expect him to "figure it out" at which point all of the old guard will be riding for a paycheck. Deegan, Davies, Jett and some of these recent kids are really impressive.

I doubt Deegan will win the first 450 at Pala...but, it wouldn't surprise me if he did. He knows exactly what he is up against in the 450 class and he likes winning. I doubt he'll win, but, I would never count him out. Fitness plays a huge role in the outdoors and he seems like he is always ready to race the entire time.
