I will say that the way Eli and Chase race each other is textbook on how it should be done.

Saw his IG account, looked fine other than being super bummed about the last race. Lots of positives to take away, but who wouldn't be bummed. Only one guy can win it all and he came up just a tiny bit short. He's the future of the sport, that's for sure. He will be a perennial top 3 guy in both SX and MX for the next 6-7 years. Great US ambassador for the sport.

Something that is really really frustrating me. Someone needs to point out to Matt Walker, Brian, Luce, Star etc etc for their answer or reaction to this. Why all the commotion about the kid claiming the bike? The rule is there for a reason, to keep amateur racing fair. They do understand by anyone having any reaction above mild annoyance is admitting the bike is far superior to anyone else’s and far above 17k worth of bike and goes against the morals of amateur racing and the guidelines that this rule sets out. From why I take out of the different versions of the event, Brennan claimed the bike, then was gang banged into pulling out of the claim. I am in no way a legal expert, but to me if a bike is claimed according to the rules and not delivered to the claimant, then penalties associated with refusing to deliver the bike should be issued, end of story.

Many many people should be suspended for a year over this, it really is unprecedented. If the dealer had a part in stopping the claim, his son should be banned. If the trainer had any part in stopping the claim, everyone who he works with should be banned. I'm not saying I agree with all of this, but it is the rules. Anyone not racing, is the responsibility of whoever they are there for. The reality is, this an even bigger issue than people are making it out to be.

May have put enough fear into the teams that they will be a little more judicious about what they bring out to amateur races -- which is the whole goddamn point of the rule.
