Smith246 Added a reply to Triumph TF450 reviews and setup tips

Yeah my previous 450 was a 24 kx450 and i really liked it, very smooth easy to ride 450. But i actually got bored with it, the power just didn't have any excitement to it. The triumph is similar to the kx right off the bottom, very smooth and easy to control but builds alot quicker and stronger into the...

Great insight and worth the post. 17.2 hours on mine, 13/50 gearing and 116L chain (stock is 114L and 13/48). Also prefer the 'Sand - Wet' map, with 'Expert' and 'RC Signature' (standard second map, blue light on) being quality options to try as well. Relatively stock on the suspension side (just clickers: C15/R14; HS 7/8, LS14, R11), even at 185lbs and SoCal 30A speed. 2.5mm fork height. 100-102mm sag. 26mm free sag tells me I need to bump up the spring rate, but this is a long-term test bike so that's not in the cards at the moment. LOVE...

Now I'm used to the bike i would say alot more nimble than the Kawi and still slightly more nimble than the Yamaha. I've been a long time lover of 350's and always had one in the shed. I've always lent towards preferring the 350 over 450's because for me I prefer handling over power. I recently sold my 23...

I've been hearing about the issues people are having with Triumphs lately but I wanted to make a thread about real world reviews of the bike and any setup tips people might want to share. I'm up to 16hrs on my TF450 and really loving the bike now. It's definitely not perfect but after some small changes I am gelling...

I would say probably more of a missed shift rather than a false neutral. I think it is probably due to the stiff shifting though. I've got a yz shifter which did help a little but I still feel the position of the shifter could be part of the problem for me. It's slightly too low to get my foot...

Replacing the bad parts with the exact same bad parts won't really help long term. They need to come out with updated parts before they start fixing them. I hope they step up and help the customers.

I went to a yz shifter on my 450 and although it did put the shifter in a slightly better position it is still very stiff to shift 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. Funny thing is it goes down gears a little too easy, even the slightest tap of the lever and it will down shift, sometimes even...

Hey guys. I’ve also heard from a couple people through email that their TF-450s are going into neutral. If you can email me the exact problems and maybe I can see what’s up and possibly help. I can’t guarantee anything but I at least can try. Doesn’t hurt to at least give er’ a try. It’s not my job but happy to help if I can. You can email me through my website.

Yeah sorry I actually ment to say manufacture not dealer. But the dealer is the customers first point of call so I guess they should be the ones pressuring triumph to do more. I'm hoping mine doesn't give me trouble, but if it does and it is a known problem and no one was willing to help I would be...

This is not good to hear. I have a TF450 with 15hrs in it now, it has always been hard to upshift but I don't get many false neutrals. Had alot of metal on my plug at the 10hr oil change and was a bit worried. Just did 15hr change and it was pretty much spotless. It really sucks if...

This is definitely true for me. While riding the stark is definitely a blast in its own way it definitely gets a bit boring when you only ride it. There is just something that's so much more satisfying about putting together a good moto on a petrol bike compared to the stark. I do feel like for average Joe riders...

I own one but don't really ride it anymore. As most have said the pure riding part of one is amazing. But for anyone who wants to ride alot or rides softer dirt they just can't keep up. I really think stark missed the boat by not making them quick swappable batteries. For me it couldn't be the only bike...

What terrain do you mainly ride? If it's softer dirt I would stick with air forks and try the JBI kit, if it's more hard pack choppy conditions I'd go a spring kit. My recommendation for spring would be kyb or dal soggio. On my 23 350sxf I felt little to no difference between my well setup stock forks to...

I've had a 23 yz450, 24 kx450 and currently a 25 TF450. Once I got forks and gearing sorted the TF is by far the most fun 450 I've owned. But honestly they are all good bikes and you really can't go wrong with either. My suggestion is if you want to try the yamaha I'd wait for the 26...

I have been using the traditional style float setup mostly and found a good setting but more recently switched to the leaf style. My first try I just used the same mid valve stack as before but with a very light leaf setting and seems to feel very good. Need to test it on some rougher tracks but. I like...

I'm just a home tinkerer, so far from an expert. I've had dal soggio's and ohlins on previous ktm's, 22 and prior, and kyb on my 23 so never really got to test them back to back. My kyb's on my 23 350sxf were awesome and I've been using similar settings for the kybs on my TF450 and stark with...
