It just shows we are lucky we have so many options to suit what we like. Im the complete opposite, had a 24 kx450 and 23 ktm350 and feel the 350 is better pretty much everywhere.

Just wordering what terrain you ride? And did you try any suspension other than conevalves and stock? The conevalves i have ridden seem alot harsher than my kyb's.

So, I've been toying with the idea of picking up a 125/150 just for kicks. I stumbled upon this thread and that MXA test, and after experiencing the EFI improvements firsthand, I was sold on getting that TC150 my dealer had. I called up the shop Saturday morning, damnit, the sales department isn’t open on weekends . Then, it started raining—because why not? I've lived in Humboldt County for 22 years, and I can count on one hand the times we've gotten rain in August. I’ve got a 2:40 lap track at my place, but it’s been bone dry since...

Yeah i definitely agree terrain makes a big difference, but i ride mine on everything and i still dont feel the harshness. Has to be the kyb's even though i dont mind the stock forks. I was a little shocked with how harsh the 25 150 felt, not harsh chassis wise but through the bars.

It's crazy how different opinions are on the 23+ chassis. Some say it's too rigid and some have no issues with it at all, i peronally love my 23 350sxf. I do have kyb forks on mine but i also didn't mind the stock forks. I will say my 45hr 350 with kyb forks feels more plush than my brand...

Do it, i really dont think you will be disappointed. If you are lIke me and your main concern is the tbi on the 150 then don't be worried, this thing runs smooth and strong. And it definitely still feels lIke a 2 stroke, when it comes on it is very impressive.

Already many 04-08 Honda CRF 450 video on YouTube. Guys cranking out same lap times as modern bike. No electric start, No EFI, little shorter length than modern bike. Parts are cheap, plentiful. The 07-08 crf450 putting out 52-54hp (similiar to 2024 KTM 350). Other than pro ranks, the bike is competitive anywhere. Not many people can push a 50hp motorcycle to its limits for 15-20minutes. Back in the day, Jean Michel Bayle pro circuit cr250 was 46hp. Yes any of the bikes produced last 20 years can be competitive in amateur racing. Just won’t have the new bike smell...

I hover around 175-182lbs and i got a 2022 YZ125 for this season. I have stopped racing and i only ride 25-30 hours per year at this point in my life, so i thought i would try a 125 for the fun factor. Well, it is fun on hard packed and smaller tracks. I can go pretty fast on it (1-2 seconds slower than on a 450) and it is rewarding. And i love how light it is! But the issues start the second i go to a soft sand track or any kind of track that is a bit...

Buy an Akropovic slip on Extremely quiet and durable, and increased bottom end on the 350.

I agree 100% on the 350 being the best bike overall and likely the best fit for most riders at the track (the 450 riders anyway). The big thing that held me back was the AER forks, which in all honesty have improved greatly. And now, there are the 6500s and KYB spring options for WP forks. The 350F engine got a lot better in 23 and newer. To me, it is potentially the perfect bike. And this talk about "you have to ride it aggressively" is BS. You can still lug it around the track and clear 98% of...

I couldnt agree more with everything you said. And to me the engine on the 23+ ktm 350 is a game changer. People have to get the idea out of there head that the 350 has to be ridden aggressively to go fast, it can be lugged, revved and everything inbetween.

I did the same thing, 5 bikes of all different sizes in the last 2 years searching for the perfect bike and i ended up back on a 350 where i started 🤦‍♂️ I still believe the 350 is the best all round size for most people but the shit part that i completely understand is some people dont want...

All this is fascinating lol i went on a "try every bike" tour and this is what i learned: I'm 6'3", 210, try my best to ride with good technique over speed, and I get after it hard as I can within my limits. I'm just as fast if not faster on my 22 crf250r (suspension, pipe and sprocket) in a 20 min session than any bike I've owned. I can just ride it harder longer with ZERO ARM PUMP. That's the biggest perk. Some of my 450s I could probably sprint faster, but who cares about 1 lap.. I've...
