Old people usually think their generation was fast. Jett (and many more riders today) are much faster than many top riders 15years ago.

Rookie year Jett went undefeated. Rookie year Tomac did not. That pretty much sums it up.

For the 4T era, I think 04 RC, 08 Stew, 13 RV, 15 Tomac, 16 Kenny, 18 Herlings, and Jett would be the best race.

Jetts superiority is that he doesn't push it to the edge, and ultimately past the edge, like Eli did. That's why he's got the rookie year perfect season and Eli has a few amazing races.

I know racing and qualifying are completely different but Tomac was 6 seconds off the pace at Fox. I think he can compete in SX but I just don't see it happening in MX anymore outside of a race here and there. The Hunta brothers are just on another level than anyone other than the rare occasion Sexton is on his game. Back on topic though. 2015 (and 2022) Tomac would give any rider in the sports history all they could handle.

Already said it, air went completely out after that DNF. Nothing to race for. Lawrence's hard to get anyway. Deegs unless he improves I think he can run with. It's early in the season, I hope he will put some extra effort into southwick and some east coast tracks at least.

To me, the biggest disappointment was seeing him back it down immediately after Deegan passed him. It cost him points because he would've finished 4th with ease if he would've kept going at a 2:08-2:09 pace (which he could've done no problem). It's pretty obvious that he is the best of the rest after the brothers and Deegan, which is decent but nothing more than that. We're only 4 rounds in this summer but it's kinda crazy that his highlights of the season are from the SX part of the season.

I don't think it was AP that caused him to wake up as much as his old green bike that was about to blow by him

I am a big fan of Prado, pumped he came over here to race. I did not like his exit from Kawasaki but it is what it is. Prado is probably the third fastest rider in the series right now. With Tomac and Sexton out. Deegan is beating him because Prado is not in good enough shape to push the complete moto. Yeah, those Euros always struggle when they leave their homes, uproot their lives to race overseas in a new series on different bikes, to prove their speed against riders completely acclimatised to racing where they've raced their whole lives. Eh, I feel like your judgement of the 2024 season is a little cloudy. Yes, Jorge had some rides that were far better than what he's shown in 2023 (like Sweden and that first Spanish round). But it wasn't like "he had so much more speed" than Jeffrey and Tim. Tim was actually really close on winning the title in 2024, if not for his footpeg breaking off at the penultimate round. Jorge made 19 points on Tim that weekend, yet won the title with 10 points over. You could argue Tim could've won the title if not for that...

I never really thought about it like that until your comment, and I 100% agree with you. When you're talking about mental toughness that lasts 1-5%, it must be hard to find and retain, let alone being more or less alone in a foreign country.
