I still think the best looking KDX was the 1979 KDX 175. I had one...bought it used less than a year old for $900. They were around $1,200 new BITD. Bring that back.

Yes the 550 startet as a Sidecar Engine but back in 1985 What i heard some Americans put that Engine in a 500 Frame and the 550 was born , an Produced in small numbers as a 540 DXC and later 550 MXC I build my own 550 MX with a very early 1986 Engine in a 1988 Chassis

I believe Kaplan Cycles had one of them in one of their videos. I believe they made them from 1990 thru 1996 or so. You're right though, it was definitely a short shifter. I think I heard back in the day that the engine evolved from a sidecar platform.

I think as parents we probably shouldn't have our kids modeling themselves after professional athletes in general, regardless of what venue they participate in. There are a few that were probably model citizens like Dungey or Peyton Manning, but there are many more that aren't.

Then there was also the lesser known DXC. I had a '92 550 DXC. That bike was a beast off road and was all low end and mid range. If you tried to rev it out like a KX500, CR500 or YZ490 you were rewarded with a lot of top end vibration that made it feel like it was going...

Somebody who has ridden a 250 and 300 2T, educate me. I raced a CR480 MANY moons ago and that was too much. To me, a 250 is not lacking in power at all. What is the feel of the 300 power vs a 250? Edit: I found this: https://motocrossactionmag.com/mxa-race-test-the-real-test-of-the-2024-… Seems like the 300 is more of an optimization for off road or for those used to riding 4T bikes. I'm torn about the FI and starter. Once that is all added, it's difficult to say this is still the simple bikes of the past, and of course that all...

In many ways you are likely right. Not a Brian Deegan fan, but it's hard to question the fact that he understands promoting and marketing a brand. That's really all he is doing and pretty successful at it. He's going to do what's necessary to pump up Haiden's value. This will only help his son come contract time. I'm sure...

I'm fairly certain all loans have a Due on Demand Clause. Granted if insolvency precludes payment then the calling the loan is a dead end street. Why the demand for a higher percentage? Pressure during the negotiations can have unique benefits perhaps. The 70% gets forgiven and the lender writes it off and the borrow pays tax on the forgiven amount. (US Law) During the 2008 Financial Mess, I closed my 20m Commercial Glass Business by liquidation that I processed as it was clear that the market was not coming back anytime soon and the best solution was to close...

I love the story of him having his mechanic bring one of those big hogie sandwiches out to the start line and laying on Marty Tripes front fender as they were sitting on the gate. He mentioned that Marty could not resist food. That's some funny shit. Floating around is also a pic floating around on the web, just goofing...

So yes, "boring" was the wrong word. I don't think the races are boring at all as long as there are two guys in every race that are close to each other at the front of the race. Right now, Deegan is one of those and he's also a lightning rod for discussion, which makes it more fun. I like...

Yeah, I think it makes it more interesting when there is at least one guy that goes opposite of everyone else. Like I said, I like the other riders as well and I like the fact that someone (Juju) is making Deegan fight for it. But it's way more fun to watch when there is a Hannah vs. Howerton or...

I am a big Deegan fan, mostly because I appreciate a rider who has drive like that. Yes, he spouts off on the podium, but does at least have the talent to back it up. I remember being a Hannah hater back in the late 70's mostly because he had a big mouth. Because of that I never appreciated the...

But the riders in Barcia's era are hitting you different because of what they went on to do. Deegan is racing against riders that may go on to win a lot of races and Championships. The point is, we don't KNOW. We know Deegan is really fast and really gritty. Beaumer is very fast, Cole Davies, ect. No matter who Deegan is racing, they would never look as good on paper as the guys listed that was in Barcia's time.

The big question is...how much are they going to be worth once they are entirely manufactured in China and India? And who is still want one once they're essentially an orange GPX?
