9/10/2025 1:14pm So state's rights on abortion and other things the fed's want to punt is fine with people, but fuck you to the state's when the president wants to distract from the obvious by using federal troops and officers to handle a state issue? Checks out.

9/10/2025 11:01am Tariffs can be good for the country, in part by the points you raise here. But in my opinion, blanket, country-based, tariffs are not the solution (and will have an extremely negative effect on the economy). We’ve discussed costs to the company earlier, but in many cases, these costs are passed on to the consumer. And in the event of tax breaks to the company, those savings are not likely to be passed on as well. So tariffs cost general US citizens in the end, especially because A LOT of our everyday purchases are imported goods. Chinese knock offs are...

9/10/2025 10:58am While this is an excellent breakdown of what this really is, don't even waste your time Billy. He thinks it's a good thing every day American's are paying a shadow tax to subsidize mega corporations with nice tax breaks.

9/10/2025 10:58am To answer your question directly, no. And that's true for most companies. First, you’re making the assumption that these tax breaks will actually happen. Tariffs are happening, so we have to wait and hope while we pay out money in the meantime… Second, if they do, the tariff income has to cycle through the government inefficiency loop before it comes back. Therefore it must be less money coming back than what comes out. You can view this as punishment for those who import more as it will harm them more, but what about things that have to be imported as...

9/9/2025 2:33pm You don't seem to be the type that would argue our government is efficient? But by arguing that tariffs will be paid back via lower taxes, isn't that what you're saying? If not, then tariffs will always cost more than what the company will get back in these supposed tax rebates, directly related to the (in)efficiency of the government, right?

9/9/2025 2:35am Tariffs don't do anything to lower the cost of doing business or regulatory burden in America. They are meant to raise the market price of items. As you pointed out there's many different factors that go into the economics of everything including manufacturing here. You should check out the Abundance Movement that's emerging as kind of a pivot away from Woke mainly among the center left. It centers on reducing regulation and embracing classical liberal values. The leftists, socialists and commies hate it.

9/7/2025 3:04am If you don't like it, don't watch it. That was one of the most difficult tracks we've seen the top athletes ride. A gimmick is Field running a series that doesn't benefit anyone but them selves. The riders racing actually have a chance for good money. Let's watch the racing and stop complaining.

9/7/2025 2:45am There are specific Tariff fee calculators to help with the extra taxes we are paying on most things imported. But it’s not easy as saying it’s 68% of the declared value. Materials, shipping, origination etc etc affect the taxes (tariffs) We are all going to get screwed big time, it’s just started.

9/6/2025 8:34am It's not the money issue that makes your idea so dumb, that's why I didn't mention it. Remember? The reason that MXoN is, was and will always be the best MX event of the year is that it evokes national pride for the riders and teams that unite their country's fans who get behind them. That's its unique and enduring appeal. Your format removes that appeal in a single stroke for all but one team (the US) and replaces it with nothing.

9/6/2025 8:21am it will be interesting to see what happens because all trumps tariffs are being done by EO, or just how hes feeling that day. If the Republican Party loses the presidency in the next election I think those will immediately go away. Congress is who has the power to decide tariffs and make it law, not the president. I’ve heard of some capital investments from countries like Japan but I also read that a lot of the money promised was a loan, not a true investment. The bragging about all the money coming in from tariffs is such horseshit cause...

We also haven't been this slow since covid . Because of the tariff situation? Fuck if I know . Just relating what I'm seeing. A lot of uncertainty.

9/6/2025 8:16am You think you're going to build new manufacturing facilities with higher cost tariffed raw materials and components, to take higher cost tariffed raw materials and components to build things that will be competitive against imports that are subsidized by foreign governments? How does that math workout? I work in industrial automation, the vibe on the ground is not great. Talking to customers and vendors I'm not hearing big plans to build out new facilities in the US, I'm hearing a lot of "sorry we are raising our prices" and "we're holding off on large capital expenditures at this time".
