mxtech1 Added a reply to Worn brake pedal pivot rod. R&R?

Just find a shop that will allow you to pay after you inspect their work. This shouldn't be a hard job and any halfway competent guy could do it. The only critical part is making sure it gets put on at a perfect 90 degrees. I would advise taking your pedal with you when you pick it up so you...

You are on the right track. Best thing to do here is to take the frame to a fab or weld shop and have them install a new standoff. If you can buy the right OD standoff that just needs milled to the proper length, you can probably save a little bit of money.

When I say "race motor" I meant the motor we only used in the race bike. It wasn't what you're thinking a full-blown PC or Yosh motor. It had a high comp piston, Ti valves and Cu seats, Yosh Cam, polished tranny, stock crank, and Hinson clutch. We did have a really good port job done on it, but we...

Don't sweat it man - bikes come and go. IMO, you need to be putting as much money down as you can on that mortgage anyways to try and reduce your points. You'll save the money in the long run. Just look at it this way, you'll get to get a new (different) bike after you get settled into the...
lol...... I don't understand this. I am a huge 2T fan, don't get me wrong, but this is crazy. I work as a fabrication engineer so I know what would be involved in making these and the price gouging on this piece is astronomical! All the 2T guys bitch about how expensive four strokes are yet most demand this trick...

mxtech1 Added a reply to Used bike climate.... ?

I used to be able to make pretty good side money buying used bikes and flipping them. Several years ago it was common that I would be able to buy 1-2 bikes per month and then sell them within a few weeks at a profit.Sometimes they needed work, but often times I just came across good cheap deals from guys...

I don't think it's mind blowing - rather smart on your part. Sure, you would profit $1K, but if you really think about it, what's $3,500 going to get you in the used bike market? I guarantee it's nothing as nice as a mint 07 RM250.

He needs to put together good starts and consistent 20 lap mains. I don't think he's fast enough right now to be able to straight-up beat (catch and pass) Stewart, Canard, Dungey, Roczen, Barcia. I do believe that he is fast enough that if he gets a holeshot and several of the top guys can't work their way through the...

I feel due to the economy, the average riders don't have $2,500 to $5,000 in liquid cash anymore to buy used bikes. Bikes under $2k seem to sell easily, but anything over that gets tough. Unless you are willing to under-price the your bike, it's going to be a tough sale. It seems like Ebay has the strongest market right...
I was reading through this thread, thinking to myself what the hell is going on here?? Everyone is being so nice to each other and complimentary. I was getting worried, fearing the magnetic poles had reversed, then BobPA posted that gem and pulled me outta my funk.

Have you talked to the "Boss" about burying things in the field? If he's concerned with being able to later re-take the spot for crop production, I would be skeptical to think he's going to want crap buried out there. He's going to think, "Ok, so you want to move a bunch of dirt around and bury stuff, so when...

mxtech1 Started a new thread What's up with Paypal??

I sell all my moto parts online through Ebay and exclusively use Paypal for payment. I have been with Ebay and Paypal many years and I have always had 100% positive feedback. It seems like Paypal is holding pending balances longer and longer. I always provide accurate shipping information and tracking #s. For example, my last transaction from mid September...
