3/11/2015 9:40am You forgot the small plate that holds the kickstarter mechanism. At least you caught now when it's easy to fix!
mxtech1 Added a reply to MOD 2013 Kx250f Motor
3/10/2015 10:02am I'm guessing by the looks of the stator cover this isn't a low hour bike.
mxtech1 Added a reply to Flywheel puller
3/10/2015 6:59am It tells you in your service manual which Yamaha part# you need to order from your dealership or online. It should be a 27mm x 1.0mm left hand internal male thread. This thread into the magneto itself and the driver in the puller pushes against the crank end with a protective cap.
mxtech1 Added a reply to Most Technical rider
3/9/2015 1:15pm I would say KW14 is up high on the list of most recents. I highly disagree with RV being mentioned in this category as I think he is the opposite of technical. He uses the bike's power and his muscles to wrestle the bike into doing what he wants. If you think that is a technical riding style, then yes...
mxtech1 Added a reply to Fuel Injection Bog
3/9/2015 1:09pm clogged fuel filters is most likely. second check would be to pull the injector off, apply low voltage to it and spray it out. May have some debris. Off course, do this after you check all the basics. Electrical connections, spark plug boot and plug itself, bad fuel, clean air filter and nothing in the air path.
mxtech1 Added a reply to MOD 2013 Kx250f Motor
3/9/2015 10:03am I don't want to sound negative, but if you let a stock motor get to the point where it blew up, you need to learn how to better maintain the motor before you start thinking a mod motor. A mod motor is more maintenance and you are going to have to rebuild it more frequently due to extra valve train...
mxtech1 Added a reply to 2009 kx250f fork oil
3/9/2015 9:52am 360cc per fork is a good starting point for a 165 lb rider.

3/7/2015 12:29pm Unless you're willing to pay top dollar for a new OEM piece, just be patient and keep an eye on Ebay.

3/5/2015 2:14pm Lol....nothing like that feeling of having a mystery part laying around!
mxtech1 Added a reply to Slight drag when spinning crankshaft
3/4/2015 7:28am Do not hit the ends of the crank with a hammer. Even a newb should understand.....think about....does it really sound like a good idea to hit the end of your crank with a hammer??? You first need to take the cases back apart. lay a machinists level (or something you know is 99% flat) and make sure the bearings are...

3/3/2015 10:36am Never work offer to work for free. All that does is tell a potential employer that you need to prove yourself to evaluate your skills before they offer you payment for your services. You could offer to work for minimum wage, which after you put in 60-80 hours per week, you basically are working for free. At least at minimum...
mxtech1 Added a reply to Sleep and its affect on athletes
2/26/2015 9:57am I couldn't do that. I've never been a napper. If I fall asleep during the day (rarely) I always feel more tired and worn out when I wake up for the rest of the day.
mxtech1 Added a reply to Good Deal On KLX110?
2/25/2015 10:03am Out of all the bikes i've ever owned, I probably had the most fun riding around on my KLX110 that I had years ago. I wish I would have never sold that thing. The motor's are bullet proof. Just keep the oil changed and air filter clean and you should get many years of hassle free use. I wouldn't get...
mxtech1 Started a new thread Arlington Broadcast Audio!
2/17/2015 11:43am I noticed the audio for Arlington seemed extraordinarily clear. For some reason, it seemed so much better than other rounds. It was awesome to be able to hear the bikes revving or lugging through a corner. In the whoops, you could hear the chains slapping with the whoop face and then into the bowl turn after the whoops could even...

2/13/2015 10:09ammxtech1 Added a reply to Stinkin' Boots
2/7/2015 8:46am sounds like bacteria microbes. Take the soles out and run them through a washer/dryer with an anti-microbial or steam clean setting. If you don't have this, you can request it from most dry cleaning services. Spray the inner boot out with Lysol. I'm concerned the microbes may be throughout the material. If the Lysol only penetrates the top surface, you...

mxtech1 Added a reply to 285 Pounds and Moto
2/3/2015 2:46pm In all honesty, the stiffer springs you installed can only do so much to keep the suspension from bottoming. I'm willing to bet that since you are still stock on the valving, the suspension is riding too low in the first half of the stroke which makes for a harsh ride. More or less....you are relying on the springs to...

2/2/2015 2:43pm Just wide open through that bowl turn!! Anyone else notice he skipped about 4 whoops down the right side? lol...
