Problems like these are only going to become more frequent. It's sad, but this is the price owners pay riding bikes with fuel injection. Bikes are just getting more complex, electrically. The day is quickly approaching when the average guy will no longer be able to diagnose and work on their own bike due to all of the electronic components...
I've done many helicoils and have never had any problems or one come back broken. Over-tightening will damage any thread, it doesn't matter if it's the original threads or repaired threads. This is why it's so important to follow your owner's manual torque specs.

I've had good luck with the Renthal R1 race chain and also their sprockets. For a short track, you might want to consider +1 or +2 teeth on the rear sprocket. Usually no size change to the drive sprocket. If you want more durability and longer-lasting, go with an O-Ring chain and a steel sprocket.

Not always true. When I broke my fibula near my ankle, I first thought I just had a bad sprain because my boot got snagged in a rut down a fast straight. I sat around the track for an hour before I had my buddies load up my truck and I drove home. When I got home i was in...

It seems like food was always one of our biggest challenges. For the guys going to races in small RVs or trailers with a mini-fridge, it's really hard to keep stocked up on groceries. However, it's not practical for you to haul in groceries. I guess unless you know the rider personally and their needs, cash and or gift cards...

If I were you I would be blowing Yamaha's phone lines up demanding some customer support. FYI....they do have an engineering/customer support group that specifically deals with cases like yours that the dealership isn't able to solve. Before you call get all your ducks in a row about what has happened. Document everything the dealers have done, how much money...

No matter how well you prep, paint is never going to hold up to the MX environment. It may look good for awhile, but it will always peel/chip/rub off. Your money is much better spent on anodizing or powdercoating. Do it right the first time and you won't have to worry about it again.

If you have to replate the cylinder, I always prefer to buy the piston kit ahead of time and ship it with the cylinder. This lets them match the bore perfectly to your choice of piston without the guessing.

Always put the spring side in. The non-spring side is flat and will allow the driver to work more evenly. If you put the spring side out, you have a good chance of breaking the spring or ruining the seal lip when using your driver.

Awesome build!! Not being picky but a couple things I noticed..... Always run your master-link clip on the inside of the bike! The front sprocket retaining washer is not bent over far enough to keep the nut from spinning off should it come loose. Also, the hose clamp for your fuel line at the carb inlet, rotate that down and...
