Just watched a bunch of the interviews from Hangtown. I was wondering if there is a rule against speaking in 1st person or if it is now required to refer to yourself in 3rd person at all time? We couldn't help but notices while we were watching the interviews that most of these guys have a hangup referring to themselves as "we" all the time. Drives me nuts!
We need an old school Bob Hannah type again. "I" am going to break his leg in the next moto, or "I" rode like a girl.
The Shop
It would be 3rd person if Eli was on the podium saying "Yea, Eli had a great race, he did really good"
Speaking of podium speeches.. I think Weston is a cool cat and no doubt he has nerves in front of the camera. But every time the camera is on him he talks like he just railed a few lines of blow. For a brawny guy like himself, it throws me off every time.
Pit Row
What drives me nuts is rattling off this sponsor list. Some do it alphabetically.
It seems like a lot of riders say this now.
By the time most of them get through their sponsor list they forget to throw the "enough" on the end.
I feel like they all do a fine job speaking for young men in their situation.
I know for a fact I'd look like an idiot on world wide TV, probably for something I don't even know I do, because nobody cares. Grammar is a little off but whips are fresh though! They touch the lives of more people on a Saturday than most will in their entire lives, give them a break. lol
