Rebuilding brake caliper, pocket of air behind cups?

I'm rebuilding my front brake caliper today and the pistons have cups on the fluid side. When I reassemble everything will be coated with brake fluid but how do I "prime" the caliper so there aren't air pockets behind each piston? Seems like bleeding wouldn't necessarily remove an air bubble sitting in the cup (but would of course remove any bubbles in the line).

Just rebuild the caliper and use a syringe to fill it with fluid. Bleed the brake line down to the caliper first and then use the large banjo bolt that holds the line onto the caliper to bleed the line first and then the small 6mm or 8mm bleed screw for a final bleed and you will be fine.

You shouldn't have a problem with this. As long as you are bleeding the system correctly, the air will be forced out by the hydraulic fluid. If in doubt, buy a pump bleeder that sucks fluid through the system.
