mxtech1 Added a reply to Major clue missed in Dungey interview?

Ducks??? makes me think of the Aflac insurance duck. The Aflac insurance duck reminds me of the Geico lizard. Maybe Dungey will be under Geico Honda to fill a spot that has been voided by a semi-retired K-Dub for outdoors.

mxtech1 Added a reply to 2011 Vital MX Audience Survey Results

9/23/2011 7:46am
42% of vital users have a household income of $75,000 - $150,000? Average is almost $100,000?. I seem to find this hard to believe when only 37% of users show college completion including 7% with post-graduate degrees. What's everyone doing to make this type of money without college degrees?

mxtech1 Added a reply to Suzuki's factory withdrawal?

9/23/2011 7:20am
I knew they were giving support to the rockstar suzuki team which did alot for some of their best amateur riders. I don't think they were getting factory-type equipment but there still had to be incentives for running suzukis.

mxtech1 Added a reply to RMZ shifting problem

x2. It sounds like there might be a problem with the detentor catching inside the shift drum. Make sure there aren't any burs and the that springs are properly applying pressure to the small plates. If you won't see anything wrong with the shift detentor, something is wrong inside the cases with the shifting forks or the shifting drum.

I have used all of the large companies pistons and have good results. I have no bad experiences with Wiseco and no failed engines due to a piston failure pre-maturely. CP pistons are nice and i have been using them alot in my mod engines. you can't ever go wrong with OEM. JE pistons are extremely nice and probably my...

I buy alot of different types of bikes to repair and re-sell for profit so I have seen alot of bikes come through my shop. What i've found is bikes from motocross racers are usually best cared for. To go further, vet-owned bikes usually are in the best shape because the owners don't wring them out racing and they aren't...

mxtech1 Added a reply to Is #800 overtrained?

9/13/2011 12:55pm
With some rider's riding styles and preference on bike setup, the only valve stack that makes them happy doesn't make the shock happy. It takes such a progressive stack that sometimes nearly all the shock oil will diverge through the stack and cause a pressure difference on the oil flowing through the internal return loop in the shock. This pressure...

I don't think he he spends enough time on the bike. I don't know him obvisouly, but from hearing him talk in interviews and The Moto all it talks about is how hard he trains and how much time he spends doing cardio, lifting, and cycling. Very few clips of him putting in long motos. But i do see clips...
I'm also a member to our local MC club. Members pay yearly dues, must work 25 hours per year on work days, which are the upcoming days before an event to prep the facility, and attend all the races to work an assignment. We have about 50 members so it helps, but it's usually about the same 10-20 guys doing...
i have a 2 mile private track that we maintain ourselves on our 200 acre family owned property. What we have for equipment is a 1954 Ford 8n, a 5 foot disc, 5 foot harrow, a blade, and a bobcat. It takes alot of time to keep the track nice with such small equipment, but it can be done. The...

mxtech1 Added a reply to RM125 spark plug

9/13/2011 5:40am
How can modifiying the head reduce engine vibration? Because the main principle behind these plugs is the concept that they are built stouter to prevent breakage from vibration. Maybe you should try selling him off on your blueprinting and balancing instead of a squish-band reshape to compromise the compression ratio. One could possibly argue that changing the compression ratio could...

mxtech1 Added a reply to RM125 spark plug

It's pretty cut and dry, obviously NGK has done their research correctly and even gave a very thorough explanantion in the post above. Why would you consider running anything but?? Sure, it sucks to drop over 30 bucks on a spark plug, but when you're jetting is dialed in that plug is easily going to last you over a season...
