9/30/2024 6:33pm I mean, I'd rather hit a collapsible cardboard box than a solid hunk of foam that will take me down. What's the ratio of guys landing on tuff blocks saving them from other crashes, vs riders eating shit after clipping a tuff block?

Radical Liked a reply to forum topic So was Carter Gray (65cc) DQ'd for jumping the finish?
9/8/2024 7:55pm As I said earlier, if the kids were indeed told not to jump it, then the penalty was fair, along with the final results. The kid who was in second used his head, and won because of it. But, as a few people have mentioned, a better solution is to re-route away from the obstacles that are off limits. This would allow the riders to ride the course before them them at their maximum potential. In this case, putting a chicane before the finish line jump would've been better.

9/8/2024 7:52pm So did he jump it during the race or on the last lap after the checker? They could always add a tuff block chicane before jumps like that to slow them down and make it impossible to jump also.

7/10/2024 1:45pm It’s an Apple phone bro. Sorry it does not do sentence structure. Bored out my mind in Portage hvy rain can’t go walk even. The reason I mentioned Emig is because he is the best in high heat , humidity and high dew point. Muggy and hot is my favorite riding weather too. 98 shift pants and a cotton jersey

6/22/2024 1:04pm Can you imagine if all the ambulance chasing Dad's out there start approaching track staff and asking them to remove all potentially dangerous obstacles in case their kid crashes? "Dear track staff, please remove all the trees, stumps, logs, rocks and hay bales. They could all cause serious injury or death if my kid loses control of his bike"....

6/9/2024 4:33am Injuries in motocross are always 100% preventable - don't ride motocross. It doesn't matter if that berm was 5' high or how it was, if you whiskey throttle off it you are most likely going to get hurt. I'll say this, even though it's been mentioned a couple times before...Rick Ryan didn't have the best reputation in the sport. His statement has a few holes in it, as well. He said he talked to a track worker and then went to another area where "spectators congregate" and then he couldn't see the berm. From all the pictures that have been...

6/9/2024 4:32am I initially had some of those thoughts. Before pics came out. That the so called cliff (that isnt really a cliff) must have been so obscured from view that it might not have even been visible unless you did a track walk around the complete outside of the track. Or lost it over the berm. But it's right in plain sight in the pics. From the jeezes parking lot even. Everyone that was there had to have seen it.

6/4/2024 6:28pm If it was to dangerous in his opinion then don't race! We're lucky the track is still open...that lawsuit could have easily closed another track here in socal! If I seen something I felt was to dangerous for my kid the last thing I'd do is send him out to get hurt and then sue. Crazy

6/4/2024 6:28pm 7 pages and there still seems to be some major confusion over the feature of the track where the crash occurred. I see the word "cliff" used several times to describe it. Was there in fact anything resembling a 30' vertical "cliff"? Question: if you rode slowly up and over the berm in question would the average rider have any trouble riding down the "bank" on the other side to the flat ground. I am under the impression that the average rider would have little problem ... or at worst a minor front wash out if the bank is really...

6/4/2024 4:49am Someone posted a link from the actual race the accident occurred in. It’s in the other thread. Before that, I went on YouTube and found an older video of LACR. It wasn’t hard to see where. Anyone with any sense on a bike would know that it’s not gonna be good to whiskey off that berm. Can’t say that’s all that unique to this specific track to be honest. I have had many situations where my brain goes “if things go sideways…”. I then ride accordingly.

6/4/2024 4:45am It's a motocross race. There are inherent dangers, tracks are dangerous, it's an implied risk. Would be different if it was gross negligence, such as a piece of equipment on the track. Like a kid tearing an ACL at a High School basketball game and the parents filing a lawsuit against the school because the gym floor was too slick. That's what this is.
