In watching the many replays, he was able to get side by side with Davies and they were both racing for the same line. Deegan had the inside and that usually wins out. Davies knew he should have let Deegan get side by side and Deegan have the inside.

There absolute is precedent for no penalty. A penalty would be ridiculous, as if you penalize him, you need to penalize so many other people, but it doesn't make this incident any less gross. RC had the speed, but not as much as James, MC was natural talent and style. Coming at it from a "coolness" factor MC is the king. Jeremy's natural talent and smoothness on a bike is what drove Ricky to out train him to beat him. If they were the same age and came up at the same time I don't know that Ricky would have the titles he does. Jeremy was ending his career as Ricky moved into the premier class. All of them won races, and beat the best indoor rider ever, and the best outdoor rider ever via wins. The titles didn't come but if you don't think those three are A riders in 98-2001 not sure what to tell ya. Anyway, back on topic.
