It's been over 15 or 20 years since I last bought a brand new bike. Been looking at either KX450 or YZ450. Not including tax is there a certain % off MSRP everyone shoots for now a days?

Good luck getting a discount on Yamahas. The dealers in my area sell them before even getting them in stock. Kawasaki’s they can’t give away. Kawasaki usually has huge rebates this time of year.

I decent deal on a ‘25 YZ450 would be about $10k OTD.
KX selling locally for $7300 -  expect at least $1000+ in fees and taxes. So maybe $8500 OTD.

The 2025 KX450 has a $2500 rebate currently.  I didn’t see any YZ450 rebates on the website, but that might have changed since I looked.

If you're a vet, KX all the way. Between the power delivery, stable chassis and better pricing, green is easy to ride and if you want to go faster, turn the throttle harder, sooner.

I’d hold out and look for a left over 24 KX450 id there are any.  If not I’d do a green bike whatever year 250 or 450 if you are trying to save a dollar.  They always have some kind of rebate for the most part.  I was a Yamaha guy but they priced themselves out for me a long time ago.  A left over 24 Honda if you can find one works if you are willing to throw a triple clamp and make sure spring rate is right.  A Honda is hard to beat if you are willing  to get it dialed no matter what year.

A left over Beta 450 RX ain’t a bad ride either if you can find one.

I got a 24 kx450 for 5800 pre tax but including all other fees. Emails all of the dealers in your area and bargain with whoever gives you the lowest starting price.

I’ve always liked the Kawi’s I had in the past. I just wanted a blue bike this time! 🤣

That sounds like a good idea. When will the 2026 bikes start dropping?

Multiple dealers quoted me $12,500 otd on 2025 sxf250 today. Thats with 500 off.

I have 23, 24 sxf450 that both came out the door $3000 less than that.

Crazy times.

Vet rider, hadn't ridden a Yamaha i liked for decades but I have to say that 25 YZ450 is a great ride.  I'm a fan of the new platform.

Kawis are always the cheapest in my experience.

Dealers have a hard time selling them lol.

Buy the KX 450, dollar for dollar its the best 450 on the market. They can be had for $7500 out the door pretty much anywhere in the country, and you wont regret it

I have a 2017 YZ250F. Suspension worked by Andreani USA, full Yosh pipe and silencer. Less than 40 hours on top end replacement. And im a Vet rider. Is there really a newer 250F out there that is noticeably better than what I have now? I am a former B rider that probably has slow C class speed and ability now.

For a Honda or Yamaha, MSRP plus tax is not a bad deal. Not sure about the other bikes.

I just bought a 25 YZ450 a couple weeks ago. They had a 1000.00 rebate going for them.

Only a few years ago Yam was doing rebates and sales clearing out last years bikes. They definitely have got a little pricey now.

Because they don't need incentives or price cuts to get them off the floors..

No, not unless you got $10k that you don't know what to do with.
