You really should know the history of the rules. The 4 stroke displacement rules were written and in the rule books from the 70's to give the heavy and slow 4 strokes an advantage. Yamaha was smart enough to create the technology and change the sport and the others followed. I still ride/race a 2001 YZ250. Back to the OP.......why...

Thats what real Morocross was.........There was (and still is) a whole lotta fight in that Magoo dog! after watching these old vids and seeing how crappy the suspension was on the works bikes was it makes me realize just how good todays bikes are.

Exotic bikes are not for everyone........but if you like having people notice what you are riding instead of just blending in then there is nothing better.
