2009 kxf450 problems?

I have 6 hours on my 09 KX 450 with no problems. The only problem I’ve seen reported are a few bad water pump seals. As for the bike not turning, a little set up is all that’s needed. Let the suspension break in, set the sag, go a few clicks softer on the rebound front & rear and 1 or 2 clicks on the compression and you’re good to go.

FI is the bomb. Open the throttle and the bike leaps forward. Very cool.

Its a Kawi. They are made not to last long arent they?

My new '09 feels like a 250F in the corners. Really light! Only a couple of rides on it thus far.

P.C. 's tripple clamps solve the turning issue. My 08 clamps fit on my 09.

Shrouds are gripper material. They go on really good and hold up better for me. Not a wrinkle or bubble on the whole bike.

I don't know what the 2009 YZ450 is like compared to 08 and previous, but the 2010 is going to be something else!! I just saw the new Yamaha R1 street bike, wow!! Lots of GP technology on that puppy which I assume will go into the Fuel injection for the YZF line up.

On another note, James Stewart said in his podcast interview that his YZ450 handles and turns WAY better than the KX450 ever did. He said the first thing he noticed was how well it turns. I know he is a Yamaha guy now and all...maybe he is just selling his new brand..... but thats what he said

I rode my buddies 09 KXf450 at LACR last Wed. He only has 3 rides on it.I rode it back to back with my stock 07 CRF 450. My bike has Noleen suspension work. My comparison is based on a brief ride and the SAG was not set for me. I noted my Suspension was MUCH better as to be expected.The Kawi felt rigid and deflected off everything.The harder I rode it,the better it was though.I'm sure once broken in and set up it would be better.It was twitchy at high speed too.I had more room on my Honda to move my 6ft 2,190lb. body around. Felt kinda cramped in comparison on the Kawi but I would have moved the bars up considerably.Power wise,my stock 07 CRF seem to come on quicker but when the electric feeling KXF finally came on, it was fast!The mid seemed stronger, but my top end was equal.When I hear the price many are paying for 09 bikes,I'm pretty happy I only paid $5400 OTD 3 months ago for my NEW 07. I've yet to ride the 09 Honda,Suzuki,or Yamaha though.Hopefully soon.Smile

That 07 is the best stock Motocross bike ever built. I have a 07-08 hybrid that I have finally got dialed in to that sweet spot where you feel like you know what the bike is gonna do before it does it.

I pretty much have decided I will be keeping my bike another year and trick it out a little bit with some bling along with maybe putting a MRD pipe on it.

Here's something that I find interesting: David Vuillemin's dad has an interview on Moto Verte where they ask him what he thinks of JS. He said that he looks way smoother than he has ever seen him. On his Kawi it was more brute force. Now Didier Vuillemin's team runs Kawasaki...
He said he was watching JS very closely trying to see where he got his speed. There was no obvious place. He is just faster everywhere.

Unless Chad steps it up it is going to be a boring season!

Chad did step it up. he was very fast at the US Open and I'm sure will continue to be throughout the year.
