2023 he had a tip over the race before Tomac tore his Achilles. If not for the tip over (and AC hitting him) Webb probably wins the 2023 SX championship on the KTM. I got a left over '22 KX450 in 2024. Put ~60 hours on it and never had an issue. Still had the stock clutch. Bike was all stock except for a suspension revalve. I race 50A for the record. I would gladly get another KX.

That's a bummer you had that experience. I was on the leftover Kawi program from 2013 to 2021 and never had a single issue. I was hesitant buying a Kawi from the memories of all the problems back in the 80's and 90's even early 2000's with quality. I bolted a Timbersled kit on a 2014 KX450 and wrung it's neck with that thing for 3 season and it just kept chugging.

Chase left Honda because when Jett moved up he was no longer #1, he left KTM because they were in financial trouble, we don't know why he left Kawasaki, people have speculated it was bike or it was the team, maybe it was both. KTM would welcome him back, there is no bad blood, but his best option is Suzuki, Ken can help him sort the bike.

You weren't comparing Chase to Jett, you were comparing him to Prado. Chase is not Jett.

Chase is coming back from ACL surgery, Prado was just coming back from making an ass of himself. I don't think any team is going to put too much pressure on Chase at round 1.

yeah leaving KTM was definitely questionable. But it was at a time when KTM was facing serious financial difficulties, so future was unsure + the shock issues. And probably the Prado - Kawasaki situation wasnt as bad at that point.

By every metric he was better on KTM. Many say he was fastest on the Honda, but there doesn’t seem to be credible evidence of this. He went from 40th to first at Hangtown in 24’. He only won a National because the brothers were sinking their own ship and he won 1 out of 6 motos in SMX and got the SMX Series overall thanks to weirdo points and points carried from SX/MX, not like "wow he's winning all those races now that he's on a different bike"

I’d have left KTM at that point too, the vultures were circling and it was looking like the brand might disappear. Kawasaki has its issues for sure, but its financial stability is solid.

In the same interview, he also said he had to work on getting comfortable on the KTM. No one here is saying that Chase was comfortable on the Kawasaki or that he liked the Kawasaki.
